What a load of crap from Dana (again). I heard rumors of the comparison between Francis'
punching power and a car. Now that I've watched the video, I can say Dana and/or whomever
wrote those stats are out of their fucking mind!
First of all, Horsepower [HP] has nothing to do with the speed of an object, its mass, and its force of impact.
HP is a measurement of work done over time, not impact force!
For example
The lightest Escort produced was about 1068 Kgs in 1991.
The top speed of that model year was approximately 180 Km/H, but let's say it's limited to 100 Km/H.
Using 1068 Kg and 27.78 m/s for speed, we get 412, 102.97J of KE
Going further, a simple impact formula:
F=2mv/t
t = 1
We get 59,338.08 N of Force.
If we use a 300 Pound man (using all weight), with a punching speed of 50 MPH (22.35 m/s), we get:
34000 J of KE and 6,079 N of Force.
I've given extremes where possible and looked up the world's fastest punch at 43MPH,
then used 50 MPH for Francis.
Even if you double the mass and the speed,
you won't come within half of a Ford Escort
moving at 100 Km/H , let alone full speed.
Dana's and the PI figures are bogus it seems
What Dana is trying to tell us, is that a Ford Escort hitting a pad at 100 Km/H would only displace it a few inches.
Dana is also stating that Ngannou's fist could stop a Ford Escort colliding into him at 100 Km/H.
I highly doubt it.
The hammer analogy is also funny. Who is swinging the hammer? What is the force of the hammer?
Here is a video of a 4 pound sledge hammer hitting a rock. I wonder if Francis can split some stone
with his 96 Horsepower?
EDIT: updated formulas and values. Thanks Hespectfully.

Here is the original press conference video. 5 minute marker is where Dana spews the nonsense.
