What a load of crap from Dana (again). I heard rumors of the comparison between Francis'
punching power and a car. Now that I've watched the video, I can say Dana and/or whomever
wrote those stats are out of their fucking mind!

First of all, Horsepower [HP] has nothing to do with the speed of an object, its mass, and its force of impact.
HP is a measurement of work done over time, not impact force!

For example
The lightest Escort produced was about 1068 Kgs in 1991.

The top speed of that model year was approximately 180 Km/H, but let's say it's limited to 100 Km/H.

Using 1068 Kg and 27.78 m/s for speed, we get 412, 102.97J of KE

Going further, a simple impact formula:
F=2mv/t
t = 1
We get 59,338.08 N of Force.

If we use a 300 Pound man (using all weight), with a punching speed of 50 MPH (22.35 m/s), we get:
34000 J of KE and 6,079 N of Force.

I've given extremes where possible and looked up the world's fastest punch at 43MPH,
then used 50 MPH for Francis.

Even if you double the mass and the speed,
you won't come within half of a Ford Escort
moving at 100 Km/H , let alone full speed.

Dana's and the PI figures are bogus it seems

What Dana is trying to tell us, is that a Ford Escort hitting a pad at 100 Km/H would only displace it a few inches.

Dana is also stating that Ngannou's fist could stop a Ford Escort colliding into him at 100 Km/H.

I highly doubt it.

The hammer analogy is also funny. Who is swinging the hammer? What is the force of the hammer?

Here is a video of a 4 pound sledge hammer hitting a rock. I wonder if Francis can split some stone
with his 96 Horsepower?

EDIT: updated formulas and values. Thanks Hespectfully.

Well yeah Dana the usual shit...

Work done over time = Power.

Work divided by time = POWER.

Literally.

Jesus, Sherdog never fails to amaze me.

The force of impact as per Newton's law is: f = ma
f = 1068 * 27.78 m/s (instantaneous, not accelerated ms ^2)
f = 29669.04 Newtons of instantaneous force

I think Dana meant a hot wheels Ford Escape.

Was this the same bullshit that said a Jon Jones spinning elbow had something like the same force as a Blackhawk helicopter

Don't take the hype to seriously, Ngannou is just a man....

You’re confusing kinetic energy with impact force, which cannot be calculated without knowing the deflection of the object being impacted. Your rudimentary grasp on physics aside, we all know that Ngannou doesn’t hit harder than a car.

He also said a punch from N'Gannou generated more force than a full sledgehammer swing from overhead. I give N'Gannou the challenge, I'll let him punch me as hard as he can but when I wake up, I get to explode his head like a fucking pumpkin with a sledgehammer then tell me what hits harder.

I'm not confusing kinetic energy with impact force. I gave the formula for instantaneous force with respect to
Dana's analogy of "96 Horsepower" and "Ford Escort".

Power = Work / Time.

If you are trying to calculate the *total* work performed (which has nothing to do with how "hard" someone hits), only then do you need the integral.

You are clearly borderline retarded. Either kill yourself or shut up and go get an education, you high school dropout.

You're getting embarrassed lol.

Why the hell did he use a ford escort of all cars for that shit line?

Dana is just spewing shit like usual, I hope he isn't dumb enough to think it was true. Most reasonably intelligent people just dismissed is as hype rhetoric (or at least should have)

I'm retarded, but you can't decipher the written meaning vs. the formula?

What's the difference between:

P = work / time

and

work over time = power

Please, please... explain?

....They are the same thing.

Are you seriously this stupid?

P=W/T is the same as W/T = P.

Read it, then read it again. Then understand that this has nothing to do with your original nonsensical post, put down the bong, and step out of your mother's basement.

My God. Can't tell if you're trolling or this idiotic.

I fucken hate the fact Dana says shit to inspire the retarded teenage noob fans and not us legend hardcores.
