International Hillary Clinton thinks Europe should curb immigration

are you really congratulating her for talking out of both sides of her mouth?

She hasn't. Just like Obama, she has never advocated for anything approaching open borders. Obama secured the borders more than any president in US history before him, brought cross-border migration to negative levels, and brought border removals to all-time highs. Clinton, during her time in the legislature, was more conservative on immigration than the average Democrat and on multiple occasions advocated for border fortification. But she's a smart person, so she didn't advocate for something as monumentally stupid and impossibly wasteful as a goddamn wall. She also expressed basic empathy with immigrants and refugees, which reflects the mindset of her base.

The idea that merely supporting path to citizenship -- something that like 75% of Americans support -- makes one a supporter of "open borders" is a great example of how Republicans obfuscate issues to grind government to a halt and then use its stagnation as a reason to sell it to the highest bidder.

Predictably, this confuses the shit out of the rubes.

Jesus Christ!

She is still not addressing the core issues of open border immigration.

Get ready for more populism Hillary, because you just showed you are still out of touch of normal people.

Not sure where you live but in CA we don't need more people. I don't even support legal immigration to be honest except in cases where truly necessary (doctors in small towns, etc.).

Hillary blaming her loss on immigration now.

So Mrs Pantsuit-on-fire says the problem with immigration is that it increases the support for right-wing populists and not that mass-immigration is a problem on its own merit?

This is a last ditch effort for her. Make people think she isn't with the globalist cabal.

But what about the caravan KiLLarY, should it be stopped so it prevents right-wing populists from gaining a stronger foothold in America as well?

Here is the important part:
Europe must get a handle on immigration to combat a growing threat from rightwing populists
Her only concern is the liberal elite losing elections. Her statement has nothing to do with what is best for the people.

Maybe she should have thought about that before helping turn Libya and Syria into warzones.

"She called on the continent’s leaders to send out a stronger signal showing they are “not going to be able to continue to provide refuge and support”

Interesting. Maybe too little too late but maybe not. Glad to hear her talking sense.

Inb4 she lost get over it.

Not surprising at all. Hillary is no fucking liberal. Sure, she talks about women's so called rights, yada yada, and supports the ACA and global trade deals, but that is about as left as she gets.

Clinton urged forces opposed to rightwing populism in Europe and the US not to neglect the concerns about race and identity issues that she says were behind her losing key votes in 2016
That is rich considering her "Taco Bowl outreach":
Many Democrats have believed that a coalition of minorities, millennials and single women would help create a new Democratic majority for years to come. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign was counting on it.

Why identity politics couldn’t clinch a Clinton win

Yeah. If the U.S. took as many refugees in relative to its population as Germany, it would take in over 4 million. Clinton proposed taking in 60k, which is still a small increase. So there isn't the slightest bit of inconsistency between saying both "we should do more" and "some European countries are doing way too much." But I truly think that some of the lesser thinkers here only think in terms of directionality (see discussions on taxes, gov't spending, the safety net, immigration, minimum wage, and more and keep that in mind--once you start looking for the disorder, you'll see it everywhere).

They should send all Syrian refugees to the US.

You started this mess by invading Irak 15 years ago.

In typical Trotsky fashion he is narrowing it down to whether or not she explicitly said anything about open borders.

I wish I could find the video of Hillary back in 00's talking about being hard on immigration (Obama too). Snakes.

It's the sort of gibberish that a leftist would make once they get their wires crossed. Dementia stage 2.

Yeah a bit late there Hillary, I mean getting on the tougher immigration bandwagon.
So Hillary admits her defeat had to do with immigration and Europe has a serious issue with immigration?
