HIIT help.

I really wanna try out sprints instead of LSD, but I don't really know how much I should sprint. I don't exactly know if it works out like this, but does anyone have a HIIT schedule that is a very rough equivalent of a 8 minute mile run for 4 miles?
 
Hit up the FAQ there is alot of info you should read to get a good understanding. I'm not sure how to equate LSD to HIIT in terms of difficulty, they are really very different types of training and it's kinda person specific.
 
As standard says, it's difficult to equate the two as they're targeting different energy systems.

Try something lik 4 x 800m intervals to begin with and then finish up with tabata sprints - 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off for 8 rounds.
