Is Hernandez the best chance to best Khamzat? No guarantee he wins this fight, and I’m probably picking DDP though I expect Khamzat is favoured. Hernandez not even be champion level. And yet I think he’s still the fighter in the division I think most likely to beat Khamzat.

Hernandez is top 10, he’s probably able to compete just fine with the top 5. But stylistically (plus the fact that he is really good).
Khamzat hits hard and might 1 shot him. Hernandez has an iron jaw and Khamzat isn’t Koing top people.
Khamzat takes people down and subs them. Hernandez is a great grappler and a dog. Probably the hardest to sub in the division. And he already took on a world class grappler who is better at jujitsu than Khamzat for short periods and has Hernandez in his world but could finish him. And like Vieira Khamzat gasses.
After the first round Khamzat would be broken down, I just think of everyone,Hernandez’ grappling, gritty survivability, and cardio pressure are the most dangerous to Khamzat.

I think Caio might be, But hernandez and DDP aren't easy fights for Khamzat either. RDR would be a tough fight for Khamzat, too.

Caio is the obvious answer and the epitome of "styles make fights" here.

There is a very, very low likelihood that scary first round Khamzat summarily submits Caio. Even if he gets him in a bad position, he's just not the guy to wipe out with a quick sub. He's too big, physical and skilled at grappling for that.

IMO Caio has a better shot at wearing a belt fighting Khamzat than he does fighting Dricus.

Fluffy is a really fun wildcard though. Allen had single digit fight IQ in their bout and it made me realize Fluffy isn't just skilled, he's figured out how to leverage his game and does it without apology. We'll see how tonight goes (and Doldize is a solid grappler and generalist himself) but I think dude is right in the mix and a dark horse if he pulls off a win.

If Caio wins his next fight he is definitely above fluffy in the title picture.

It’s true that while we’ve seen Fluffy just crush a high level grappler in Allen, what Dolidze did to Hermanson was also very impressive.

After seeing his last fight and him rolling all over the ground like a spazz for 5 rounds Brendan Allen, losing position over and over, I have zero doubt that Khamzat would beat the absolute fuck out of him lol
For 1 round… beyond that we’ll see…. Or we won’t, depends if it ever comes up.

fluffy is highly underrated in his skillset. do not be surprised if he becomes a champ. very durable and just cant be rocked.
they keep saying he is doing simple takedowns, they are but hernandez is just that good.

I’m saying. People getting carried away because he beat slow plodding gatekeeper Dolidze are bots.

Theres a reason why he’s fighting gatekeepers. He’s earned a spot to prove himself against an actual contender but they gotta slow down. This is the same dude who got easily folded by Holland lol.

Dolidze folded Holland more recently

Caio is too slow and he is definitely not strong and what I mean by that is he is not Chimaev strong or even Whittaker or DDP strong.

Caio is slow in everything he does and will only hope for a hail mary sub from beneath Chimaev which won´t happen or come. I geninuely believe Fluffy is much better then him

And Holland still folded Fluff in like under a minute. He’s a guy who gets by with speed against lumbering guys like Dolidze and the BJJ guy he fought.

I remember Whit made a name for himself at MW with his speed advantage until he started fighting faster dudes. I don’t trust fluffs chin, his body is soft(Michel almost finished him), and his lack of power is gonna catch up to him.

He got caught with a knee to the liver...5 years ago. He hasn't lost since and has been dominant in most of his wins. Periera isn't slow or lumbering and he did to him what he's doing to everyone.

Similar to Dolidze, Pereira has like 1-2 rounds of cardio in the tank at best. They’re gimmick fighters imo.

Fast, balanced fighters with knockout power only need a small opening to turn off his lights. Caio, Imavov, Izzy, etc all guys capable of doing this. Not to mention there’s other guys who embrace dog fights at the top… nothing would excite Strickland more than a guy who doesn’t stop pressing forward and playing the cardio game. MW is lowkey pack bud, and Fluff developing is a welcome addition but we gotta watch this play out. Good fights for him so let’s see him in there against the best.

I have been say Hernandez is up there with Khamzat for a while now, i don't buy the Caio hype train, he is not that good.

But that was 5 years ago and what fluffy’s 8th pro mma fight. He clearly has leveled up a few times since then and if they fought today I have no doubt fluffy would do to holland what he did tonight to dolidze. Simply outwork him and tire him out by constantly pressuring him and stay on him giving him no breathing room and making him constantly work. He is like a mix between merab and Cain. That was the comparison dc said and I think he nailed it. I would favor Khamzat, but fluffy would have ways to win that fight and we know fluffy has an endless gas tank and we also know Khamzat has a questionable gas tank. So if Khamzat doesn’t finish him round one I think he would be in some trouble because fluffy going to make him work hard constantly. I think fluffy would be faster in the striking. I’d favor Khamzat though just due to the way he mauls people with his strength and skill. Again if it gets out of the first round though I would be nervous for Khamzat the rest of fight though.
