Here we go. Jeff Sessions resigns as AG

As a short man, I'm sad to see I'm no longer represented in a position of power, but I'm glad he's gone. He seemed in over his head, despite being a USA and a state AG.

Assuming the Russia investigation gets axed, Trump is basically begging the new Dem House to bring impeachment proceedings. He probably thinks it would rally his base for 2020.

if trump goes. He's going to take everything with him. Burn it all down.

He was something like three decades out of practice.

Waited to make sure they had senate seats locked up before unleashing based Lindsey Graham as AG?

Well, he wouldn't go anywhere. No way in hell the GOP Senate convicts him.

Jeff Sessions was never my friend.

said all the trump apologists

trump didn't even have the balls to tell sessions he's fired. His most loyal supporter

Now, keep in mind that the new AG can only fire the special counsel "for cause", with which it being an active criminal investigation, could be found to be Obstruction of Justice if that "cause" isn't...causal enough.

Bold strategy, let's see who gets arrested.

Trump can't just legalize pot. He can order law enforcement to keep a blind eye, but actual legalization would require legislation.

Or, as Dana Rohrbacher did, created de-facto legalization by removing funding from the DOJ for enforcing MJ laws in states with MM on their books.

And with this democrats begin hysterically bemoaning the loss of the most regressive, socially conservative USAG I can remember. What a time to be alive

Is it really hard to understand? Everyone knows that Sessions is terrible, but the reason that Trump wanted him out is that he wanted an AG who would help him get away with corrupt dealing with a hostile foreign power.

As much as I hate the guy Ted Cruz is infinitely more qualified than Lindsay Graham for the position... but neither guy is going to give up their Senate seat for the position, especially not after how close Lyin' Ted's race was.

A special election in Cruz's district would go to Beto for sure.

how can this guy possibly be in charge of Mueller? Where is the ethics office?

And, we've got people so stupid that they pretend its not about the overt agenda behind the move, and absolute zero about the man himself. And just hope no one's able to articulate this very easy to articulate thing, I guess?

What a time to be alive indeed.

Sessions is an old fashioned southern "reefer madness" square who loves for profit prisons. No love for him but lol at him leaving. Guess kissing orange ass wasn't his cup of tea.

You do realize Trump appointed him right?
