Here is why I believe Stipe Miocic will beat Jon Jones

The last time Stipe fought, he was brutally emasculated by Francis. It will be three and a half years since he entered the octagon. This simply isn't good for Stipe. He's going to come into this fight extremely cautious and gun shy. If Miocic give Jon too much respect and allows Jones to chill on the outside, it's going to be a bad night for Stipe

I hope his game plan will be to press forward, tie him up against the octagon and attempt takedowns even though I don't think Stipe will have a high percentage in that department

I dunno if hes going to be that gun shy, theres a big difference between Jones punches and Ngannous punches.

The amount of people that think Jon has no power is just insane because he doesn’t sit on big punches. Jon absolutely hammers guys that stay in the pocket too much with big knees, spinning shit, elbows, kicks, and unorthodox jump attacks. He disciplines guys and almost every fight he’s been in ends up where his opponents end up doing nothing because they are stuck in neutral and can’t get into range because they are deterred by his attacks.

The only fight where someone’s ever been able to put damage on him was Gus, who basically tanked massive blows to the head all fight, and probably suffered badly down the road because of it.

This idea that dudes will just be able to walk up to him and punch him because he has “no power” is goofy. He’s elite in terms of knees, kicks, and elbows… all of which are harder shots than punchws in general anyway. Stipe has a punching advantage if he can manage to make Jon agree to only punch with him.

100% of course he has. No one would like to see Miocic knock Jone's block off more than me. Jones and Dana have made me very cynical about all this though. I'm expecting a calculated record padding and potentially incredibly anticlimactic event.

Im having this feeling too. While I didnt expect the Gane fight to go down like it did, I was not shocked that Jones choose that strat. I figure he'll have a similar game plan here.

Hopefully Stipe has a better game plan than "throw a slow, looping power punch where I step forward and expose my back in a range where Jon doesn't even need to really shoot to take me down."
