Media Henry Cejudo on return to MMA: "I'm after the cheddar, bro"

Cejudo is a pretender and I don't understand why so many people here think he's some sort of GOAT.
I agree he's definitely not the goat but im a fan I think it's good for the sport to have great wrestlers test guys on their way up. If you have no TDD or getups you aren't elite.

Shoulda whooped some more ass right when he peaked as an mma fighter.

The Henry pre-retirement was gonna be a motherfucker for any dude 125-145. Yes, I believe he coulda gave Volk a tough fight. Now, Im skeptic to as what shape he would return in. Id imagine he is not the Henry that was.

Lol.
Everyone was talking about Ferg vs Gaethje at the time. He's still pissed that Dana didn't give a fuck about him retiring and made a title fight a few months for the belt he vacated without hesitation.

I like Cejudo, but man he's not being realistic with himself here.
That was pretty good. He retires then in the post fight says show him the money. Dana let him bleed out now he's trying to come back because he's broke and irrelevant. I think Cejudo is a great fighter but I think he values himself higher than he should.

I don't think Cejudo is half as good as he seems to think he is.

Pretty delusional

The most talked about thing in their fight was Keith Jack Daniels and Malboro Reds Peterson

Henry:
"You know if you go out of your way... the antics... the shit that I'm on doing... come on dude, my pay pay per views... I know I'm gonna be a pay per view draw. If you wanna base it like that, the last fight it was close to 900,000... know what I'm saying? More people we're talking about my fight with Dominick Cruz than they were actually with Gaethje and Tony Ferguson... this was the stats that MMA Junkie had done."

@15:46

John: "What's it gonna take for you... for Dana... what does Dana need to do to get you back... to get you doing what you do best?"

Henry: "I'm after the cheddar bro."

I have no doubt Cejudo has wanted to come back for some time now. But apparently the UFC/Dana doesn't want him. Otherwise why hasn't it happened yet?

I suspect that he will only get to return to the UFC if they desperately need him as a last minute replacement.

I never understood him playing up the weirdness angle when he's an Olympic gold medalist two division double world champ.
Half of his interviews are nonsense.

Why not just be real and emphasize that he was (at the time) the probably the most accomplished combat athlete in the world.

He made it clear when he retired he wasn't being paid enough, so it obviously all about money for him.

Lots of hate for Cejudo here.

I for one would love to see him back in the Octagon. Say what you want about him, but that run of W's over DJ, TJ, Marlon, and Cruz was a phenomenal run to witness. I can't imagine him beating Volk at 145, but Yan/Cejudo at 135 to me is the most interesting BW matchup available. Hope we get to see that one in the near future.

A gold medal pro like Cejudo will be on point if he were to return. His last fight was in May 2020 although it seems longer than that. It’s not like he’s coming off a 3-4 year layoff. Dillashaw looked as good as ever coming off a 2.5 year layoff.

It's safe to say if the ufc didn't offer Henry the Volkanovski fight over a non-contender like KZ he's never getting his wish.
So he's going to have to stay retired.

Isn't it simply because he wants more money? He still had fights on his contract prior to leaving so the UFC would be obligated to offer him fights if he went back into the testing pool and was actually available to fight. The cheddar's not forthcoming he'll either fight as per his existing contract or he'll stay retired squawking on twitter in an attempt to remain relavent.
