Hendo: Why win/loss is not everything

Strongest strength of schedule and a top 10 p4p ATG in my book.

Better career than GSP and Jones, though? That's a negative.
Agree to to disagree.

Reaching undisputed #1 183/185, uniting belts and getting wins over ATGs in 3 weight classes (the 3 weight classes with the biggest gaps no less), winning multiple tournaments and having an overall good record is more impressive than staying in the same weight class of opponents who are all same size or smaller than.

In the simplest terms it's like comparing a guy that has 15 wins over ATG but 5 losses to a guy that has 3 wins over ATG and no losses. IMO the former is more impressive. Sure he lost but he also faced more challenges. The later simply didn't face enough tough comp

As I thought. You're just outright delusional since you're making up stories out of thin air.

Tell the voices in your head to calm down bud
I'm also not counting guys that rose post Pride. These guys came to prominence after the top UFC and top Pride rivals were clearly on the decline. (Rothwell, Nelson, Cain, JDS, Gonzaga, Brock, DC, Silva, Browne, Stipe).
this also isn’t you? counting Werdums wins over UFC fighters but not counting Gonzaga wins over CroCop?

must by a “typo” also.

There’s a few more other examples, i’m just not delusional and hearing voices at the moment but it will come around.

GSP losing 2x is not bad thing, you know that right? Losses occur when your constantly fighting best comp. The Serra loss I think George took him lightly, but hey it happened and then George got the win in the rematch. Losing to Matt Hughes isn’t a knock on GSP, Hughes was arguably still the P4P best fighter in the world at the time.

Aside from Serra, every single one of GSP’s opponents after his 10th MMA were elite, top ranked fighters in the WW division at the time. GSP’s wins are comparable to Jones in terms of relevance in their weight classes.

GSP did fight one bout in the Usada era, against Bisping, he was already on his way out though.

I got Jones as GOAT, but GSP isn’t far behind.
no ones saying gsp isnt one of the best
he clearly is
What you write is so badly thought out, that you should just stop LOL

You named 2 guys who were not active and LHW but rather MW when they fought Jones, you name Gus twice and Bader LMAO!

Here is a real comparison of best wins
GSP best wins
Bisping
Hughesx2
Shields
Fitch
Miller
Parisyan
Trigg
BJ (LW)
Diaz
^10 wins vs top/legends

Other top 10 wins
Alves
Kos
Serra (LW)

JBJ best wins
DC
Shogun
Machida
Rashad
Rampage
Vitor (MW)
^Top 10/Legends

Other top 10 wins
Gusx2
Santos LOL
Reyes LOL
Smith LMAO
Bader LOL
Gane LOL
you do realize gustafson and texeira alone whose not even in your top 10 are better fighters than hughes shields and the jon fitch in the world right?
thats crazy how jones competition was better
even brandon vera was way more complete fighter than hughes

tapped to strikes and submission
has fewer title wins
has fewer finish rate percentage
never tested himself in drug testing era
was considered extremley boring
was always second to anderson in their prime
lmfao

Unpopular opinion but if you wanna watch some real fighters like back in the day watch BKFC. You HAVE to be a fighter through and through to do that shit. The ones who aren't wont sign up for it or if they do they only last one or a couple of fights.

+1

BKFC is a solid product and delivers high action fights.

To be fair it is not always the highest level of elite combatant, but it doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is, which is a brutal and unapologetically violent fist fight.

Hendo is a proper badass and one of the OG ogìrinal moneyweight fighters in MMA.

Guy was "Champ champ" about a decade before that even became a thing.

i think anyone who has won 1 night tournaments, let alone multiple are better than guys who've never even participated in one. it takes a different breed to fight and beat multiple guys in a single night.
Idk about better, nobody under 50 has even getten the chance. But they are way cooler.

FYI I won a fight against a kid in 3rd grade and than won a fight against his cousin that same day so Im up there too.

did @browserjr really said gsp was undersized as a WW
in his era his literaly one of the biggest
lmfao
Yes, I just can’t take him serious in some topics, he’s not a bad poster, me & him have been watching this sport for a while now but he likes to rewrite/revise history which there is evidence against it, also adds a double standard for fighters and changes stipulations and goal posts often. I get it, he’s trying to educate newer fans or he just can’t let go of what occurred in the past to his favorites but clearly he has an intent going about it in a mischievous way.

@BowserJr even kicked my dog once. Fuck that guy. Never my friend. Needs to back off St. Jones, too.

Dan Henderson makes Don Frye look like a girlie man.

Hendo is definitely an all time great. His list of wins and losses are wild. He never backed down from a fight. Win or lose he was coming to fight. Didn’t cherry pick his opponents. I know it’s hard for some of you noobs to understand that mentality of fighting but the dude is a warrior. Stay retarded Sherdog

Sure, he’s getting closer to being a shit poster when it comes to certain subjects Jones, Fedor anything really PrideFC related. His takes on fighters “primes” and his molding of it to cope from the PTSD of his favorite fighters losing is the absolute worst it’s little sad that he hasn’t moved on after almost 20yrs.

this isn’t you?
Cleared multiple WW divisions as in he cleared it out multiple times. And TODAY is considered undersized cuz Sherbros think everyone in previous eras were midgets. He absolutely was a big WW. Which I say in this very thread OP

GSP cleared multiple WW divisions and is considered undersized for WW

Great thread, I've never considered a fight between him and GSP. Usually Sakuraba is the WW who fought giants that I would love to have seen fight GSP. Henderson vs GSP would have been interesting.

Also, I had no idea Henderson fought Palhares. I'm going to have to look that fight up.

Here is some of the context in that OP that you conveniently left out cuz it shows your a delusional shit pister with an axe to grind probably because I proved your favorite fighters is not as great as you think

Arlovski
Wins: Werdum
Losses: Sergei, Fedor
Werdum
Losses: Arlovski

I actually mention Werdum in the context that he adds to the UFC HW win column of that era.

Again your 100% delusional

The only fair comparison is to look at fighters who where perennial top 10 from about 2001-2010 and actually faced guys from the other org.
Fighters are categorized under a specific banner if that's where they became top fighters.

Josh Barnett is a bit of an anomaly cuz he won the UFC belt before UFC went big and then spent many yrs in Pride. I put him in a separate category.

I'm not counting guys from the early generation that fell off somewhat early (Coleman, Kerr, Goodridge, Igor, Rizzo, Randleman, Herring). I feel like it gives Pride an advantage.

I'm also not counting guys that rose post Pride. These guys came to prominence after the top UFC and top Pride rivals were clearly on the decline. (Rothwell, Nelson, Cain, JDS, Gonzaga, Brock, DC, Silva, Browne, Stipe).
I'm conflicted about Reem cuz when he was in Pride it was mostly at LHW. He's more of a Strikeforce HW like DC, Rogers, Silva

Again you leave out the full context in a feeble attempt to make my argument look bad. So here I repost the full context.

Maybe you think I fucked your mom or something... maybe I did. I dont know but your obsession with me is alarming
