Help me understand Julianna Pena

She got the title shot because Nunes has beaten everyone else. Plus, she's a trash-talker, so that helps sell her fight, too.

I agree she's pretty, but I watched her season of TUF. Not the personality of a girl I'd like to get to know better. Roxanne Modafferi on the other hand...

Well before she lost to Valentina, she became the first ever female TUF champion, was undefeated in the Octagon and was on a 4 fight win streak. One of those wins was against Cat Zingano.

After Pena beat Cat, Amanda said she would fight her but when Ronda was coming back she chose to fight Ronda instead.

At that time, Pena was most deserving of a tittle shot but never got it. With that being said, I think it’s funny how people are mad she’s getting it now but they didn’t care that she didn’t get it when she was most deserving of a title shot.

I'm confused 1) how she has a title shot and 2) with good looks like hers, what's she doing fighting when she could parlay her looks towards success elsewhere. For example, her sister was a weathergirl, then got a job at Microsoft.

2) Serious Question: Is it really that crazy to think that there are women out there who want to grow up to be an athlete?

She seems like one of those girls that's really into sports and competing. MMA gives allows to live her dream of being an athlete.

So every professor, my parents, coaches and bosses all were doing less than I was all along. Just sounds like a quote for people that can't take criticism.
