When I got out a couple years ago we definately were not getting ready for war. We were cycling down from 20 years of low intensity conflict and transitioning to a "Garrison" style Army.
We had all kinds of "capacity building" missions for partners and allies. But I would question if Company Commanders have participated in a LFX past squad level. Or a CALFX at the Platoon level. I saw exactly 1 Batallion level live fire in 17 years. Yeah, went to a national training center like 9 times but had never met the qualifications for that gate, at 1st ID, 25th ID, and 10th MTN supposedly high OPTEMPO units.
Getting ready for war should mean preparing for large scale combat operations.
(Last year I was in we went to several mandatory gender sensitivity course but handwaived the 100% weapon qualification requirements. Our priorities got fucked up during the Biden years)
