Jones wins most of the time but Werdum would definitely win some if they fought enough times.
A prime JDS smokes JJ. Elite takedown defense, great instincts, great standup.JDS has curred and quit, multiple times, EVERY time he faces adversity. Makes me sick to look at him.
Jon Jones RISES TO THE TOP, and SOLVES THE PROBLEM, every time "he" faces adversity.
Jon Jones wins. Period.
Werdum by a wrapped up boomerang he bought cheap at a tourist stall.I think its an interesting match up. Jones has arguably better striking, but Werdum subbed Gus easily. Could Jones keep it standing?
Gun to your head who are you picking and why. Best versions of both
you need a HW who has great striking and great grappling to beat jones
I mean Gustafsson was pretty far past his prime in that Werdum fight.Of course Prime Werdum. 45-year-old Werdum submitted 32-year-old Gustafsson in the very first round, without a single problem. Meanwhile, Jones 7 years ago didn't have that dominant of a first or second round against that same Gustafsson, and it was only in the third because of a perfectly timed takedown that he finished Alexander (that wasn't HW Jones, but it was 30-year-old Jones).
Let alone Prime Werdum, who finished Fedor, and who -- just barely outside of his prime -- finished Velasquez.
Crazy to think it's been 7 years, since that was Jon's comeback fight after a long layoff.
