Heath Herring vs. Giant Silva was fake as hell!

All I could find was a 9 second clip of him rocking herring and then going after him. That certainly wasn't fake.
 
If it were fake, they wouldn't have bored us to death for 10 minutes of Giant chasing Herring around the ring before the exciting conclusion.
 
Giant Silva was in many ways my hero. He existed only to get clobbered and beat up a couple sumo guys. Bless his heart.

Ogawa .vs. all of the guys in the 2004 GP up until Fedor was fake as fuck though. That includes Ogawa .vs. Giant Silva. I remember Japanese fans actually thought this guy had a chance against Fedor due to his fake wins. It was as if you give say give Stefan Struve three of the worst fighters in the heavyweight division in fixed fights then throw him in against Cain Velasquez, just stupid.

Struve is actually a good HW, Ogawa wasn't.
 
I know this is an old thread, but wtf? That fight was clearly real. Herring had no idea what to do(he was fighting a 7 foot guy making his MMA debut) so he just kept kicking Silva's legs before choking him out. Giant Silva was just really bad and those slaps that he threw were all his striking arsenal. It's funny that he managed to rock Herring with one of those slaps to the back of the head.

Giant Silva does, dude's not a mixed martial artist. Shit, his style in the tale of the tape was "Basketball"
Giant Silva was a pro-wrestler(and apparently a Gracie black belt) who got signed by Pride cause he's 7 foot and 400 pounds.

Watch any of his fights, that's how Giant Silva fights.
 
Herp Derp? What was fake about it? Giant Silva can barely move around, isnt coordinated and isnt a good fighter. That's why it looks ugly, awkward and not like a fight. It's a freakshow fight where one guy can't even really fight and isnt an athlete.


LOL what would you expect a "real fight" of his to look like. All smooth, staying disciplined in the pocket, slick transitions, cardio, multiple rounds?
 
I think Giant Silva was just terrible. That being said, dude had some (limited) skills for a dude his size. Tapped out Sentoryu with a kimura off of his back in the first round of the 2004 GP, although Sentoryu was terrible as well.

Herring may not have steamrolled through him like Choi Mu-Bae or James Thompson did but he still did pretty well against a guy he knew nothing about
 
Herring was just cautious considering how fucking heavy Giant Silva is. He had almost 150 pounds on Heath FFS. Also what would be the point of fixing a fight if it is to let the huge favourite win ? At the very worst they told Herring to make it last longer, but that's it.
 
really doubt the fight was fake, giant silva just throws strikes slow and awkward

his fuckin fighting style on an early pride was listed as Basketball xD

also when you fake a fight you don't let your leg get fucked up as bad as possible. Same thing with those "fake" Cro Crop fights people like to troll about where he lands a full power head kick to the temple/skull.
 
not fake. just really bad.. the japanese version of kalib stanes vs nate quarry

Lol good point. Cro Cop was the best at kicking right above the arm covering the head. Awesome HL reel
