Hot Take Hear me out the UFC isn't dying

Honestly lost interest in the paramount broadcast and just turned on reruns of narcos.

Every champ is on their way to retirement.

Women on main cards is ridiculous.

Endless Ads and promos with cringe fake punk drummers hammering home the same song 15 times.

Skipping interviews, walk outs and corner cams.

Too many broadcaster desk/commentary people without substance.

Far too much gambling.
To the point Lewis bet on Waldo.
Played it out like Forest struck by Silva.

Paramount is the shiniest turd in television.

I think MMA fans do not understand consequences of big changes.

1. They want UFC to be run like PRIDE. Side-effect organizations like that are not sustainable long term especially in the US.
2. They want to get rid of PPVs without realizing that the quality of fights is going to suffer. Paramount does not understand yet the budget that is necessary long term. Also, PPV points made a big difference in fighters' compensation so now it's even more difficult to get top talent.
3. They want less Dana White without realizing there is going to be barely any relevant promotion without him. Imagine Blink 182 advertising a UFC event - wait that already happened.

After I finish these two seasons of land man Il probably give Paramount + the old cancel…
I don’t care enough anymore, thought this card might change my mind and it did the opposite

Sherbro, I wasn't mentioning licking my balls. I was simply suggesting a little play.

To the point, my post was basically a way of making fun of people that actually say goodbye to Sherdog.

Good Sir, this is just good fun. Don't take it seriously. If you go back to my post history, you will see that I'm a retard.

p.s. - Most 80-year old have fake teeth and experience, so that's a plus.
you are rambling in a shotty attempt to walk back a quit post. Do us all a favor and post ban material.

you might be drunk and high so alternative take a few days rest.

UFC is dead! This product, is a soulless corporate zombie. Remember that feeling you use to get when stemm played? and you'd get that feeling?

That's exactly it! People still rush to the corporation's defense with "Butbutbut they make so much money!!!" when the spirit has been dead for well over a decade.

Sherbro, I don't care about what you or anyone here thinks. You are old and act like an old guy. Not fun.

I’m going to get mocked but I gave up UFC for political reasons. This company sides with fascist pdf administration. Just tired of it being associated with this organization

it's already in rigormortis. Anyone else feel like this Paramount deal is Season 6 of the Sopranos? Where it's already over and they're just going through the motions for that one last big paycheck?

Let's face facts there are no more stars. 5 years from now whatever "stars" were left are gone or so few that they don't even matter. They just opened, Day 1, with an absolute slopfest. Their marketing is more confused than ever. I'm not saying dead for good the UFC will always exist but its future is looking more Fight Night and APEX than anything else. All the metrics point to this being a long slow exhale from a bloated corpse.

Don't let me tell you though, where is the UFC headed under Paramount long term?
drunk hot take ufc dead etc. I realize now the feelings of angst after this event stem from the UFC hyping this shit up for 4 months and the event being a bit of a dud. They created an expectation of something big and it ended up being just another card. Kind of like when they hype a title fight only for the guy to wet blanket the other guy who doesn't know how to grapple and everyone loses their shit. it happens.

HOWEVER if it didn't lose Nunes/Kayla, Herny/Johnson and that other fight or the other one it could've banged out way harder. ts stop being so emotional smh

@Dead Spirit of MMA
And you have these celebs that have no interest in mma just showing up to get faces out there! Not to sound like an OAP but i remember the days when the celebs that turned up to UFC events were ACTUAL fans like Juliette Lewis. Now theyre pricing out the real fans too with riddiculous prices

Its not dying. Its doing great financially. It just sucks lol its a bad product.

Ironic username and deceptively well-written. I agree UFC is in a stagnated state that doesn’t get me excited about the future.

They stopped building new stars ... a LONG time ago.

Ilia is an anomaly but he carved his own path.

Other than him every name or headliner has been in the UFC for a decade. And most of them did the lions share of the work to promote THEMESELVES.

Big stars who are likely within a year or so of retirement:

Alex Pereira
Izzy
Usman
Gaethje (with Max and Charles not far behind)
Chandler
Volk

Who is left in 2 years that can headline a big card?

Nobody but pink goof has made his millions and DGAF what happens at this point

I think it was a good show for Paramounts first outing. They'll get feedback on how and when to place the ads to not disrupt the flow of the show.

But overall for a first show? I think it was a huge success. I think Dana is very happy with it.

I think when it comes to the co main and main event they need to chill with the ads a bit. Those are the marque fighters usually on the fight poster. I wanna hear what each corner is saying to the fighter in between rounds with the co main and main. If they feel the need to put ads, use a small ticker like they do with cnn and Fox News at the bottom where you can run a gaggle of ads in one fell swoop if it's needed that bad.
