Im similar.. I laugh at everything. Couple of recent relationships didnt last because sometimes the Ladies were mad, looking for a fight and I would just laugh at it.
It's not in a mean way or with ill intent.. it's more in a "it is what it is way", some defense mechanism to not feel depressed. Who personally knows me gets it.. but I've made some terrible impressions interacting with strangers.

that being said, laughing at a suffering that you're responsible for is more of a sick sadistic thing in my mind

Yes I've had similar issues. My wife got very annoyed by it in our relationship early on but she learned to accept it. My son even gets her to laugh sometimes now when she's pissed.

In Italy this women got so pissed at me when I laughed because the security guard rejected her ticket for the Vatican. Even the security guard started laughing when he saw how hard I was laughing. She called me a son of a bitch or something similar to that. I was already stressed out though because of the way we got the tickets, it was hot as hell, and I was worried we would get rejected too. It didn't have much to do with her and I already had a huge smile on my face and then when I saw her ticket get rejected I just laughed so hard.

As far as laughing in this situation I'd love to think that I wouldn't do it but I just don't know. I've laughed my ass off in some very very dark situations where people were inches away from death or being seriously injured. I wasn't involved in causing any of these situations but I was there witnessing it happen and my reaction was to laugh uncontrollably.
 
This is sad , and the political / race points is why it’s being talked about . Thanks to identity politics ..

Both are pretty bad. We still don't 100% know what happened in the Austin Metcalf case; there is a chance that it was self-defense even though it looks like Karmelo just lost his temper and killed him. Doesn't really mitigate how bad an officer of the law kneeling on a guy's neck for 8 minutes is.
