You framed my reply with only one portion of what I said to paint a narrative of indifference when I clearly ALSO said there are also people here who drink/do drugs and drive, and who are generally d*ckheads on the road. These kids did a horrible thing, and it's clear the thought process people want from this as posters like Super Nintendo immediately start with the "well if this was a white guy" narrative, and given the OP's post-History and the hornets nest of righties who have all taken a moment to tag me in their outrage chirps, it's clear that this is little more than a virtue trap. There's no sense in responding to all of these, but I'll respond to this one.

Vegas is my City, I live here. I'm involved with my community. I picked up a kid for the gym yesterday and got held up because of a fatal car wreck outside of a High School. When my Son was in 1st grade a driver went too fast in an obvious school zone and hit a kid. There are vindictive drivers and road ragers all over the place. A drunk driver once slammed into a bus stop and killed 8 people, maimed 4 more. He was going 100mph, there wasnt much left or the victims. A Pro football player who was drunk and arrogant enough to drive slammed into a girl going more than that, her car burst into flame and she and her dog burned alive. A woman also intentionally drove her car down the strip and hit multiple people, killing one. Bicycle riders are always in high danger from DUI'ers, all-around irresponsible drivers, and these sorts of criminals.

But let's be clear why this crime was posted and why the OP was worded in a suggestive manner. It's not THAT the crime happened, or why it happened, its WHO committed it. Anyone gonna blame our "Independent" Mayor who favored Trump during COVID and was instrumental in bolstering some of the harshest criticism of our then Governor? Gonna blame our currenr Republican Governor the good ole Sheriff, letting Nevada's largest City turn into a cesspool of criminal youth minorities? Oh wait, I forgot the notions surrounding him was that he was in on the massive coverup of the TRUTH behind the Route 91 massacre that happened here, so maybe it IS his fault for not being right enough.

We all know why these threads get posted, its outrage porn, and a way to criticize any reply that isnt worded exactly the right way, or isnt virtuous enough, which is itself a disgusting act that is exploitive of this man's death. The driver is caught and facing a murder charge. Law enforcement and the justice system will do their jobs. There's no POLITCAL (which I clearly indicated) story here, unless the political story is who did it, maybe why if it was politically motivated, or the idea is to make a "those people" argument. Otherwise this was a heinous crime, which deserves justice.

That said you and everyone carrying your same pearl-clutching, virtue-signaling, holier-than-thou rhetoric using this incident can get f*cked. What a stomach-churning way to attempt to paint yourselves as more enlightened.

Someone on twitter is saying the driver is white. Has anyone else heard this or been able to confirm it? In the end, it really does not matter. They need to be tried and sentenced as adults at 17. They purposely killed a man for no reason at all. For clout and shits and giggles. But the race of the driver really does not matter. Why do I say this? Because everyone including the media has assumed that the driver is black because the passenger is black and the carjacking crimes that were committed-that is a crime primarily dominated by black suspects. The media assumed they were both black, but they still chose not to cover this, label it a hate crime, or try to stir up outrage. It’s really predictable at this point. Excluding juveniles, which they refer to as youths, if there is a suspect on the loose, if it is a white male, they post pics and list it as a white male. Same for a mass shooter at a grocery store. If the suspect is black, they don’t list that. If it is a mass shooting at a nightclub or bar, they don’t list it. But when the suspect is white, they say “shooter, who is a white male….”

Stop making this unnecessarily a race thing. Or playing the "if this was a white guy" "if this was a black guy" thing.
