He went into massage parlors (99% of "rub & tug" parlors are Asian) that he had frequented, and also shot two white people and a Hispanic person which you conveniently left out. He literally stated his motive and even clarified that it wasn't based on race. This is one of the few mass shooting cases where their is really no question as to what the motive was. The media jumped the gun with the racism card and doubled down despite evidence to the contrary.The key difference is the search for a motive. The car jacking had a clear motive, to steal a car. So there was no reason to allude to any racial component. The other guy walked into a salon and shot 6 Asian women in an environment of increasing hate crimes against Asians. Including the racial component is relevant as a broader exploration of the motive. It’s just a dumb comparison.
