Haha nah none of that.No Islam conversion?
Haha I wasn't in the pen. Everyone was cool as hell towards me. Taught bjj and boxing which helped time fly by. It was easy, just missed my family.Usually I'd tell you to stay away from the first response on any thread, but this is good advice.
Try to find something sharp right away TS.
Hey Shaftmaster any chance you taught bjj and boxing while you were in there?
No, I think he taught bjj and boxing though.
Nice. I bet it helped to pass the time
Haha nah none of that.
Big time.He probably missed his family though.
haha you guys are responding with advice for a federal pen. my experience was a breeze. everyone was cool as hell towards me. i saw kids get bullied pretty bad but for some reason everyone seemed super nice towards me. i was with guys who were serving 4 years or less, and i had a few friends in there so it wasnt bad at all. i even taught bjj and boxing in there haha. made some great friends. the only shitty part was missing my wife, kids, and it was pretty damn boring if i wasnt teaching lessons. definitely hard to stay healthy in there... i survived off of tuna and protein bars.
when the group of people i was with got moved to a new pod they were getting their items stolen, just bullied and whatnot. there were some rough folks in there to be honest but i was friends with a handful of guys in there so luckily nobody fucked with me. i wasn't about to fight. if you get in a fight you get 30 days in solitary confinement and it's all dead time. none of the time you serve while you're in solitary confinement counts as time served on your sentence.Glad you made it through alright, TS. Can you elaborate on the people who got messed with? What kind of people they were and what happened to them?
I was in the Rutherford county correctional work center in Murfreesboro, TN. they have protein bars and tuna on commissary but they didnt start putting that on there until late 2014 supposedly. a packet of tuna was 2.70 a piece.. only 3 oz, and the protein bars were 2.20 a piece with 34 grams of protein per bar which isnt bad. pretty expensive to stay healthy. there wasn't any live rolling/ sparring or anything like that. as far as boxing goes i worked on the basics with them. proper stance, how to throw punches correctly, how to gauge distance with the jab and lead leg, footwork drills, etc. as far as grappling goes i would just show them guard passes, drill basic submissions and just show them the technique. I would work on one technique a day with them. arm triangle, kimura, guillotine, darce, etc. it was fun man.da fuck... what kind of jail did you go to? The closest thing to that while I was in jail from commissary was a tube of peanut butter. I'm also a little hesitant in believing that the CO's would let inmates box/roll with each other.
i'm out now man. having plenty of money was crucial though. healthy food on commissary was super expensive.I had to sit in jail for a 30 day sentence last year. Wasn't too bad.
Worst part was always being hungry. Try and have a good amount of money on you so you can buy stuff.
