your not gonna learn anything with him coming full gun unless you get some decent practice in
when i first started muay thai there was a big time charlie who obviously wanted to prove how good he was, i started off really gentle and he threw a liver kick, i was down for about two minutes, i got up, and closed in on him, he went for a clinch so i kneed him really really hard in the balls.
its the only time i've ever had to do that while sparring but ever since then he's backed off and trained normal with me
end of the day, if the place you go is good and has a good atmos then he shouldn't be trying to kill you every time because it teaches HIM nothing, if anything it teaches him bad habits, with him constantly moving forward he is leaving himself open to a skillful oponnent to counter with all sorts
basically it boils down to the fact that this guy sounds like a cunt or you might just have a face that people like hitting (joke)
