There are many tribes with a lot of different ways of doing things including how they mate. Human societies adjust mating norms to adapt to survival needs.
If you look at the tribes in Northern Thailand alone, there's a multitude of ethnic peoples with different family structures. Some of them are polygynous, some are polyandrous, some are monogamous. Interesting enough, monogamy wasn't the norm. And that's just Northern Thailand.

There's a tribe in South America where women fuck every guy in the tribe when they ovulate so it forces all of the men to be invested in the child since nobody knows who the father is. Literally the entire village raising the children.
There are a few tribes in different parts of the world where they don't even have men. The women will visit a neighboring tribe with men to fuck and leave.

Unless I'm wrong about my definition of a nuclear family (two parent family living independently), I don't see how nuclear families would be the norm in societies where there's only like 50-100 people. It would be especially difficult if you're a nomadic tribe, which was the norm before humans discovered agriculture.

I would think nuclear families are actually a relatively new development. In many asian cultures, people (usually sons) traditionally lived with their parents after getting married. Households would have multiple generations living under the same roof. The idea of just the mom, dad, and kids living in a separate house came after modernization. In the middle east they still all live together with the grandparents and parents, multiple wives, and kids in one big house.

I don't know where you're getting this thick skin correlation, but scientifically people that are hairier tend to smell the most. Apocrine glands are sweat glands found at the base of hair follicles most numerous in the armpit, groin and feet. People that are hairier have more apocrine glands.

These glands produce sweat that contains proteins and lipids. These compounds feed bacteria, which then produce BO. BO is the waste product of the bacteria feeding.

Many East Asians have a mutation of the ABC11 gene making it non-functional. So sweat molecules can't reach the armpit, starving bacteria and preventing them from producing BO. That's why East Asians have less body odor.

You have correct information on body odor from sweat. Yet I am not speaking about sweat odor, but scent. If I find a source in English on it, I will come back.
