I got kneed 3 times yesterday

Once not all too hard while i was lying down by a new guy

2nd time was a BOMB right on the chin by an experienced girl as she was bringing me towards her with a lor of momentum (shit probably took my ability to take a punch)

3rd time was a knee to the chest which wasn't as bad as the others at first until it was time for some push ups and sit ups in class and the pain was so bad i had to take the walk of shame. That one still hurts now.

In the balls - a lot. I feel like BJJ should really allow a cup - happened more to me in a year of BJJ than in ca. 10 years of wrestling at much higher levels...

Yeah. A lot. It happens.

Story time: was training with Ricardo Cavalacanti who rented mat space from Nick "one kick" Blomgren. Nick was kind of a rough character in his youth. I always felt like he would be at home in the ring or jail. Anyways...some details are fuzzy coz this is like 20 years ago.

Nick was doing BJJ that day, I think he had just gotten his blue belt IIRC. End of class sparring this white belt was going really rough with Nick. Nick was probably 40 at the time and this dude looks 25. He wasn't exactly doing illegal shit but kind of a dick move stuff to don't do to a partner you don't know, the owner of the gym, and...well...Nick himself.

I was resting on the side watching this thinking that when I go with this guy I'm gonna slow him down and smother him to calm his crazy ass down.

Nick had top side control on mr dickface and Nick started making some space to mount. This dude grabs the side of Nick's head and lifts his knee way up and knees him right in the side of the head. Clearly this dude did it on purpose. There was a half second pause, I think Nick was expecting an apology but there was nothing.

Nick just starts blasting him in the face. Of course profanity is involved. The other guy rolls away and tries to get up with Nick still attacking. I just sat there a minute like... well, bout time for me to head out before police start asking for statements.

People break it up. But not exactly "quickly". Dude is trying to talk shit while bleeding, his gym bag dragging behind him as he fumbles for his keys

And Nick yells, "Don't forget - you signed the waiver!"

Absolutely. It happens regardless if you're sparring the old timer who can't quite sprawl just right to the newbie learning a knee cut pass for the first time (my poor balls)

less and less through the years. i guess eventually you learn to avoid it.

it happens, but 3 times in a single session seems excessive. are you sure you're not training exclusively with spazzy people?
