Social Have any of you had to take racial sensitivity training at your workplace?

I had to take a metric ton of the shit. I was briefly in the field of social work. This is the main reason I quit that job. Week after week there were seminars, online trainings, conferences and almost every one of them had racial components.

The trainings were on implicit bias, how to be an ally, how and why white people should “yield their power and voice” to black people-in one break-out session, the black moderator asked me my opinion on the topic and I simply said “I yield my voice and my power.”

In the “how to be an ally” conference, the moderator specifically stated that it is a duty for white Americans to stop and film police interactions with black Americans and to be a witness. I broke my silence on that one and got into a few arguments via comments when they were bashing the police.

I actually made a thread about my trainings during one of those week long seminars

Nope. Treat everyone equally, regardless of color. Anybody who is saying that idea is now racist is not worth paying attention to. It's what most working Americans were raised on and now practice as adults.

Starting last summer, we had "diversity discussions" bi-weekly and mandatory for a few months. Now they are monthly and not mandatory.

A total waste of time.

The day a company asks me to do some bullshit like that is the minute I pass in my two weeks notice. I quit jobs for less bullshit and a company isn’t making me take some course cause the world has turned into a bunch of pussies.

I lasted a few
Months before I couldn’t take it anymore. It was constant seminars and conferences on the subject. Fucking everything is a micro aggression

Yes i recently attended a extremist awareness brief at my unit. Essentially the same thing, but it was actually rather informative.

Yup, we had a mandotory one about indigenous.

Conclusion: they are fucked, and their civilization ain't comming back.

LOL at ts for taking those classes forcibly like a snow bunny.

I’m surprised both of you make this comment, I would have expected you to enjoy such classes.
To tell you our the truth, I’m not required to take any of the classes because I am one of the people who designs and programs many of the classes.

We have it in an e-learning format which is lame because you can guess the answers.

Any respectable company will make effects for DEI

Yes. In fact it was quite memorable. They used an inspirational quote by Hellen Keller; prefaced with “Hellen Keller once said”

No she did not! She was a deaf mute for fuck sake.

They are shoving down everyone's throats at my wife's company. Shaming white people.

I just had a training module ask me to choose who is more likely to like country music between a picture of a white guy in blue jeans and a cowboy hat and boots or a black guy with camo shorts, a vest, and a chain.

Then when you pick the white guy, because you’re not a dumbass, you get a lecture about how you have biases and you should reflect on why you picked the stereotypical cowboy to be the one to like country music. It was insulting to my intelligence yea f this BS !

why don't they just add more layers into basic 'code of conduct' courses etc?

fucking weird.
Twenty minute video and a quiz for us.

Not sure what can be talked about for a full weeklong course that TS brings up.

Lol so they only give you two answers to pick from and not an option of 'idk, I don't assume shit about people' esque answer?
