Social Have any of you had to take racial sensitivity training at your workplace?

My wife and I have our own company so we don't have to deal with this shit. She gets sexually harassed every day, but seems okay with it.

Have done this training. The discussion on different forms of bias was interesting. A lot of issues in the workplace aren’t intentional blatant racism, more ignorance and bias rearing it’s head

I had to do one last year and it was pretty stupid. Apparently 25% of my perspective is based upon my race
Your perspective is genetic. A New York silver spoon heir, an Aussie crock hunter, a Spanish fisherman, an Italian skirt chaser and a Polish farmer all view the world in a very similar manner. It is known o_O

Kind of yes. We had to do 1-2 courses, but it was so fucking lame - it was just someone speaking and everyone nodding in agreement via Zoom while not really contributing anything to the one-way conversation. Think of it the same way you think of mandatory health & safety training - nobody wants to be there, nobody really needs to be told what they are being told, but the employer needs to tick that box in case someone says something racist down the road, so their hands are clean.

When we try to increase our "racial diversity" they tend to not make the cut so we don't get to the sensitivity phase... Not entirely true but those who are capable and willing to actually do the job aren't in need of being victims...

The day a company asks me to do some bullshit like that is the minute I pass in my two weeks notice. I quit jobs for less bullshit and a company isn’t making me take some course cause the world has turned into a bunch of pussies.

I have all my employees take one. I think it's just smart in this day and age. Make sure everyone is educated. And that way there's nothing unclear down the line. Racists can't claim we didn't warn them. They are good classes for anyone, honestly. You learn a lot.
Go figure that this idiot was banned. His post was also fly paper. It attracted a whole of idiots that liked nonsense like this

LOL at ts for taking those classes forcibly like a snow bunny.
Lol I'd quit if they tried to get me to take some bullshit like that

I had to take some workshops and it was the worst experience of my life. When will the oppression against the white man end?
I’m surprised both of you make this comment, I would have expected you to enjoy such classes.

So a little context. Last year my company created a new Chief Diversity Officer position. After a long national search, the position was filled by a prominent social justice activist and an affiliate member of BLM. One of his first big initiatives of 2021 was for every employee to attend a week long racial sensitivity training. Mine is scheduled for later this week  I'm just curious if anyone else out there have gone through this at your workplace and what was your experience like in these trainings?

Since this year started I've had to take 2 different ones, along with a couple of voluntary seminars.

We got a VP of diversity and inclusion about 8 or 9 months ago. So far the only changes have been the C-level guys have to have their pronouns in their emails and they each had to do a 5 minute speech on what diversity and inclusion mean to them on quarterly call.

This is very interesting. We recently hired one of these race grifters, and before he (she, dunno, maybe trans) started his line manager (gigantic SJW) recommended this but when I got back from holidays, nobody had done it. I did some digging and apparently, it was going to happen but the University (my employer) said no - this is private information and nobody can be forced to make it public. You don't need to submit this information when you apply for a job, nor anything else, you always have the option to 'prefer not to say' - therefore, if you're forced to do it by an employer, this can be fought legally and you would win.

I haven't had any yet. I'll be a huge pain in the ass to whoever is giving it if I'm forced to sit through it. Race shouldn't be an issue in the workplace. It's 2021, we should be "post racial". Stop focusing on the differences between people, it only serves to divide.

Why do I have to acknowledge race? Isn't it racist to label others by race? What if someone is born black but identifies as other? I'd love to hear the answers.

A week? Fuck that noise. Mine was half an hour watching a video on a computer. I can't tell you much about the content because I was alone; I spent at least half the time dozing and the other half rubbing one out.

Some days, I really do like my job;)

No, but i imagine its comimg at some point sadly. The irony is my company fires people illegally and violates their rights at times and people are too stupid to realize it.

When I was TA as a grad student, we had some sort of diversity training every two months we had to attend.

We’ve had sessions and group discussions, usually about half a day. An entire week seems excessive.

Not of the CRT variety, thank God. But all this PC multicultural baloney has been creeping into corporate America for many years. I'm not looking forward to the nastiest poison reaching me, and I hope people wake up before it does. Despite their assertions it doesn't improve productivity or profitability or protect you from risk. It creates a toxic and racially divisive culture that harms real business objectives and will increase litigation over time.
