Has Jones-Miocic even been scheduled?

No such thing as the most paper champ, lol. And it's irrelevant if didn't win the belt from the prior champ. He fought for the HW title and beat Gane who is among the top 3 HWs of this decade in 2 mins. Now he's HW champ. It's as relevant as it gets.

There's as much a thing as 'paper champ' as there is 'champ'. It's all made up. Every promotion has its own 'world champion'.

What matters is how much credibility we inter-subjectively give these titles. Boxing alphabets mean something or they mean nothing.

The MMA HW lineal championship means a lot because it is unbroken. Jones is not the lineal champ. He is just a 1-0 HW that beat Ciryl Gane - a non-champion.

The only credibility he has as a HW champ is manufactured by the UFC's marketing team.

I said there's no such thing as "the most paper champ," meaning that one paper champ is bigger than another. They're all the same.

But on the topic, the lineal championship is as relevant and meaningful as pound 4 pound, meaning it's just pure fantasy.

The UFC HW champ is exactly what it is, the UFC HW champ. It's nothing to do with the UFC marketing, they don't make the champions. The commissions and organization do. There are champions that are more credible than others and it could be based on how they won the title, from whom, how long they defended etc....that is all subjective. But fact of the matter is he's still HW champ, that's not sunjective, just a fact.

The lineal championship has no official belt but it's not pure fantasy at all. It's the man who beat the man - a very simple concept. It's nothing like P4P, which is pure speculation. There's no speculation involved. In MMA, all major promotions have converged on the same lineal progression of the lineal HW championship.

Jones being champ is very much about marketing. He is the champ at the UFC's pleasure. They awarded him the chance at a belt despite no HW fights against a non-champion and they could take it away whenever they like - and with good reason given his inactivity. The commissions have no role in this whatsoever.

His actual credibility as champ is non-existent. He didn't beat a champion. He won't fight the current interim champion. He hasn't defended his belt. He is inactive. If he wasn't worth money to the UFC, he would have been stripped. His entire 'reign' is absolutely about marketing.

Nobody disputes the fact that the UFC has declared him their champion. What they dispute is the credibility of this status. This is pretty easy to understand.

The good doctor laying down the facts

Such an unappealing fight. Just an ego thing for Jon. I feel like he just wants this fight as one last FU to DC.
