Has Jon Jones grown on you?

At first i was a huge Jon Jones fan than I hated him and now I'm neutral, I guess I just like the fighters he's fighting more than him

No, I seriously don't. Its his choice how he lives his life. I don't admire it and I don't think anyone should, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Also want to mention I respect Jones a lot for recently saying that he'll be moving up to HW at the end of 2013.

Haha yeah my bad I posted before I saw your response to the other poster. Just wanted to make sure you weren't a hypocrite

I'm a Diaz fan, but have a serious distaste for the most ardent of his fans, myself.

That said...you brought him up in what I can only imagine was intended to be an antagonizing manner. I'm curious as to why you'd want to incense one of the fans you purport to be 'most annoying', if not simply to troll? And if so, I have to ask again, those who rile up the "most annoying" fans...are what by comparison, if not even more annoying than the fans in question?

It was a simple question and it was not about his fans but Diaz in question who is a bit annoying at least to some and I asked a question. Jones could annoy him for other reasons whereas Nick annoys some for different reasons. He may like Nicks annoying behavior more then Jones annoying behavior, who knows.

Its just strange to see the juxtaposition of fighters and whom they like and dislike because of certain bad attitudes and cockiness. Its par for the course.

It is the opposite. I used to like him but some of his behaviour inside the cage made me dislike him as a fighter, although he is exciting to watch.

His persona is awful but it is mostly irrelevant except when it comes to have fun on SD

lol, You're doing a bit of cleanup now man, you can't deny that your post had an air of antagonism to it...given that Diaz has fuck-all to do with this thread and you made a point of calling him and his fans the "most annoying".

I'll grant you this though, the latter part of your post here has merit, so far as the arbitrary nature of who fight-fans pick to worship and demonize.

Personally, I don't have any problem with Nick's antics; he is who he is...and there is a place for that, in my eyes, in the sport. Can't have all Randy/Rich/GSP squeaky-clean ambassador types. Thing is, at the end of the day that has nothing to do with why I like him as a fighter. On the same note, I dislike what I perceive of Jones' personality, but again, that has nothing to do with why I myself don't like him as a fighter.

based on what he said about backwards hats and middlefingers he just can't get over the fact that people come from differnet upbringings.

If your concern as a child was getting your ass kicked you're probably going to be under educated and maybe throw middle fingers at people too. Most of us don't financially support our parents. Although most can't imagine this.

If you really care that much about personality, most say Diaz is far above average nice a person. Why not concentrate on the good things.. like being one of the hardest workers out there.. respected by family and friends. Who is the immature one?

Give me a break about coming from different areas, I was raised in similar straits and understand the issue and understand the issue of people being different.

I never said that the Diaz brothers were bad, I think they are as wonderful as Jon Jones is but they do have annoying propensities which I was just gauging on.

What you are saying every fighter does but I guess it is too interpretation. I dont care about any fighters personality, I was just wondering about this issue of personalities and what personalities some like and some dont.

Jones almost always finishes and/or dominates the fight; he is creative and exciting. He is no BJ Penn or Brock Lesnar when it comes to bad-mouthing opponents, so I don't have a problem with him being champ.

I don't see anyone beating him at LHW.

I didnt do any clean up, the post was just what you thought it was.

I see you got what I was saying, good as long as you have a credible reason for not liking jones annoying behavior but not minding Nicks annoying behavior have at it.

The issue is too interpretation and I feel the opposite, I tend to think that Nick is a bit over the top.

But, it is a difference in interpretation, some like his hijinks and others dont whereas some like Jones act and some dont.

Shalom.

talent>personality, always liked him, truly a generational talent and superb athlete. And it is scary that he's still so young

I'd say i'm a long time fan of jon jones, but thats just because I can appreciate a truly remarkable fighter... regardless if he beats the piss out of my favorites fight (Shogun).

I honestly watch him because I want to see him lose. Not because I dislike him, but because I want to see what it takes to beat Jones. Chael won't be the one to do it, but i'm really curious as to what Henderson could accomplish against him.

I've always enjoyed his fights.

I certainly don't want to be buddies with him though.

I went from being a huge fan to not really liking him, just as a person though. I love him as a fighter, and I'll be at the Jones vs. Sonnen fight in person, but I'm just not as big of a fan anymore.

I've liked Jones since I saw the Hamill fight. I like him less as a person after the cockiness and the DUI thing, though.
