Has Jim Miller really fallen this far?

@Workaholic @Kumason and @Foolish already covered everything I wanted to say about this match-up, so I'll just stick to giving my respects to Miller. He's an extremely tough dude and among the most humble and relatable fighter personalities that I've ever seen. I used to think that he was one of the most underlooked LW's around 2010 when he had a really good win streak going on.

His kneebar on Oliveira was a god damn masterpiece aswell, with Oliveira coming in as an unknown young beast who had already submitted both Darren Elkins (with a gorgeous triangle btw) and Efrain Escudero. I was convinced that Oliveira was gonna outgrapple him, and boy was I wrong.

millers been in the ufc a decade, his fall of should be no suprise

I always thought Miller never looked like the same after the Healy Loss (NC technically).

Don't get me wrong, he got some good wins in there, but he looked more hittable, less dominant. Fragile Gomi notwithstanding, he's been in trouble at some point in almost every fight since he lost to Cerrone.
I don't remember him getting hurt by Alves. What'd I miss there?

Dude's in his mid 30s and has nearly 40 pro fights. Guys age and slow down.

Um, why the hell are people talking shit about Hooker? Don't be fooled by his overall record. 5 of 7 career losses by decision, 2 of which were split. He just turned 28, 6 ft tall with a 75 in reach. Great finisher (14 of 15 wins) and all around fighter (7 KO/7 SUB) and beat one of the most hyped prospects over the last year or two, Diakese, his last time out.

He's a dark horse in the LW division.

That knee bar was an incredible moment

No one saw it coming except jim

He's just old and done. Hooker ain't nothin special either. This is like the Lauzon vs Guntzelwhatever fight they just put on a few shows ago. Old and done vet vs a mediocre guy in his prime.

I know Miller isn't great but I didn't think Hooker has fought someone as well rounded as Miller to give him such a big rating

Jim Miller reps New Jersey. Based on that alone, he is awesome.

Jim is part of a dying generation, with the likes of Condit and Diego, plus he has Lyme's Disease, which is said to be one of the most depleting, exhausting and tiring diseases out there. I never thought it was a big deal until my sis got it, and I guess there is no real cure, you just live with it for the rest of your life. Props to Jim for keeping going.

I like Miller, but he's well past his prime. His ceiling was that he was very good but never great. One of my favorite LWs for a long time.

Never great? He was 20-2, with losses to prime Maynard and rising star Edgar, and on a 7 fight win streak before dropping a title eliminator to bendo.

He was easily great at one point in time.

On another note, I hate bendo.

Miller's a long way past his prime. I remember when he had only lost to champs and ATGs

Just saw that Miller is a pretty big underdog against Hooker. Is Hooker that good or do they think Miller has declined that largely? I think Miller has a good chance of winning. Hooker hasn't fought someone like Miller before.
he has Lyme disease.

Still competes with It.

that's largely the result of his decline. Along with aging of course.
