And Aspinall has about 15 minutes fight time to win 8 fights. Total fight time is totally irrelevant.
The argument here is that Stipe is so far past it that he should barely be fighting at all, never mind fighting for a belt. If the counter argument is that Jones is almost as far past it, then he shouldn't be there either.
It shouldn't take a year and 9 months for your first title defense. There should be a rule that if you don't defend within 12 months, you lose your belt.
This is a title fight in which neither guy has fought in the last 18 months.

Stipe had long layoff, but Jones pretty much had a similar or longer layoff (bar that one Gane fight that was over in a flash).

Stipe is also fresher. Jones has a lot of injuries and health issues.

Jones just has age on him, but it's only 4-5 year difference and Jones isn't exactly a spring chicken anymore else.

Stipe isn't saying much but I think he'll go into this confident and with minimal pressure. I know he's already got his speech ready for all those whose expected him to lose.

Umm no…barely a top UFC HW all timer but best HW of all time is LAUGHABLE for Stipe.
