I'm not some kind of Conor shill but he has not backed down from any fight and saved full card destruction. There's no denying Conor's selling power. I was 100% sure Jon Jones would not take a fight till I was proven wrong. Even Holly took a short notice who is also from the man from another planets gym, Greg Jackson. Or maybe I'm looking to far in to it making me gay and fake.

give me a f'ing break!

Cowboy takes more fights in short notice than normal, scheduled fights.

TJ fought a guy who got scheduled to fight in mere hours! and for his belt!!!

Jose Aldo fought 6 times in one year!

Conor did NOT invent ANY of those things!!!

Please go check before claiming your hero is creating new paths in MMA.

Connor didn't do anything, UFC just searched for a sacrificial lamb and they chose nate, who just came off the party boozed up and had 6 days to prepare. They chose nate, but many other fighters would have took the fight ( while dana claimed everyone refused but many including cerrone said to have taken the fight ).

Cerrone fought miles jury then proceed to fight benson one week later

It's not that what he is doing is revolutionary, simply that he is the most high-profile example. Other champions have been alot more reluctant to fight short-notice fights and move up weight to do it.

Your "gay and fake" comment is not lost on me TS. Are gay people fake?

He backed out of the Frankie fight...

He backed out of title defending

He backed out of giving Aldo a rematch

He is worst thing to happen to mma for years

again, to each their own.
You can;t force every champion to do the same.

But TJ fought Soto who replaced Baraon on the day of weight ins!
THAT required balls.
Much different than choosing to fight fighters without training camps (and not for the belt)!
Let me remind you thaqt while Mendes was hunting, Frankie was in the gym and ready to take the fight.
And while Diaz was at Cabo, Couwboy was in-shape and ready to go. Khabib same!

And TJ NEVER got the recognition that now Conor gets from Dana or his nutsucking fans. Quite the opposite.

Look, I don't hate Conor. But I try to be fair.

Every single thing he did is NOTHING to be that proud of.
He is the highest paid fighter. OBVIOUSLY he will want to fight. Short notice or not.

But let us not make it like he did it for the fans or took the highest risk. Because up until now he took the least amount of risk while cashing the most money!

I close my eyez and imagine me doing this to TS for such sh!t thinking and thread posting...

That simply isn't true. Firstly, Mendes was higher ranked than Edgar and the narrative coming out of TAM was that he was ready to fight and was always in shape. For you to say that he took the least amount of risk (when he already had a title fight guaranteed) to fight his stylistic nightmare in Mendes and risk it all is, quite frankly, absurd. We've seen multiple times that high-profile fighters in MMA and in Boxing don't take short notice fights unless there is major upside besides cash. McGregor fought Mendes and Nate with little upside and that is something to be proud of. You claim you don't hate him yet your line of argument lends itself to that.

Most people with full camps would be foolish not to. Need to get paid. Now when the shoes on the other foot, see Cerrone for reference.

He fought Mendes because he would get a belt without having to go through Aldo!!
And do not kid yourself! Mendes was hunting. This is simply a fact you can't hide! He was doing a TV show!
They also called Frankie, who was in the gym, said YES and he never got the call back! I wonder why!!

And the same thing for Nate.
It is a known fact Cowboy stepped up to fight Conor. He was much higher ranked than Cowboy and was in shape, since he fought A WEEK EARLIER!.
Khabib also stepped in, as he was in mid training camp for his fight next month.

I can understand Khabib, but picking a Nate over Cowboy?? That was just because he thought it would be as easy fight much like Mendes!

So you are the one lying, my friend! Facts simply disagree with you!
He had HUGE incentive to fight Mendes (the interim belt plus the money he would only make if he fought)
And he had another HUGE incentive to fight Diaz (GSP fight at UFC 200).

I am not a hater of Conor, but I do hate the crowd of nutsuckers he brought, because they are so ignorant and out of touch with reality, that we are forced to see these daily threads claiming this crap of "anywhere, anytime", when in reality it should be followed by "...as long as you do not have a training camp and this will lead to a bigger fight".

Yes, not because he was the first guy to do it but because he made it seem cool.

He got a paper belt beating Mendes and risked his shot against Aldo for the real one. Mendes wasn't in the best of shape but was higher ranked than Edgar and said he was in shape. Regardless of all of this, Mendes is a stylistic nightmare for McGregor. You claim he had 'HUGE incentive' to fight Mendes but that simply isn't true. Had he lost then, it would've hurt his image considerably moreso than now when it's more and less established. He risked his shot at a title that most fighters wouldn't take.

And Nate beat Cowboy. Do you not remember? More than that, Nate is a better personality and easier to sell. Note that it sold over 1.5M. Calling either Nate or Mendes easy fights is ridiculous. There was so little upside with being Nate. That GSP fight could've happened without that Nate.

This guy is not impressed by your thread

So you want to play little naive guy? "He told them he was in shape".
No, he didn't tell them anything because he was out hunting. And you don't bring your mobile while hunting.
UFC knew Frankie was training. they called him at his gym and spoke with him.

It seems amazing to me conor fans can't understand logic.
Yes, OF COURSE there are risks involved.
But no-camp Mendes is OBVIOUSLY a much lesser risk than Frankie!
And you saw it paid out when Mendes was beating Conor and just run out of gas.

I do remember Nate beat Cowboy. That is the feeblest of any excuse you could give.
Should we forget about Conor and get Artemij Sitenkov then? I mean he beat Conor, didn't him?
How about Duffy? He beat Conor as well.

The part your excuse fall to pieces is when you realise Cowboy went on a 9-1 run.
Diaz was 2-3 on his last 5.
Even now, after beating Conor, Diaz is not even ranked within the top 10 at Sherdog. Cowboy? he's solid at #2!

So no, your excuse don't hold any water.

The very fact the fight was at 170 shows Diaz was not in shape.

Even the asinine angle that Diaz was easier to sell, it was not.
Cowboy already had back & forth with Conor during press conferences. Diaz had None. Because he was not ranked high enough to be on the press conference with Conor.
And they would not have time enough to make a lot of press conferences. As they did not.

But then again, you are willingly gullible, making all these excuses that when analysed, they show weak and full of holes..

Before the fight, Conor already was saying he would not fight RDA next, he was looking to fight at 170 next.
Lawler or GSP would be the biggest fight, just waiting for him to run through Diaz to announce them as the main event at UFC 200.

Ridiculous is you trying to claim there was no upside in fighting Diaz...

The very fact he was paid millions is a good excuse for Conor to take this fight.
The setup for him fighting GSP at UFC 200? heh. would be the biggest event ever held, with the biggest Hype ever!
Conor would lose, but he would make money to last for generations!
You have to be a special kind of blind not to see this

Which cards did he save? The Mendes fight still had Robbie/Rory for an actual tile, and his last fight had Holly/Tate for a title.

Neither were getting canceled.

It has nothing to do with Conor...it is just that Conor gets lot more media coverages and he is more brash about it
