Has anyone else lost interest in UFC/MMA , possible to regain it?

Yeah I still watch pretty much every card, it's still great to watch. Even the weekend's card proves that it doesn't need to be a stacked card to be entertaining.
 
Only watch the champs or immediate contenders.. on exception a prospect if he is killing it, like Chimaev. Almost no women's or male under 155.
All and all losing interest in pro wrestling back in 2000 was worse I'd say.
 
I dont think so. I watched it from the very beginning of UFC 1 until around 2010. I appreciate that it has grown and is more of a sport now but I miss the old days of more contrasting styles when not everyone was a mixed martial artist. I also think Dana is a piece of shit so fuck em

UFC used to desperately try to get their top fighters on the cards. They used to try to make their cards as best as possible.

Now they give us the lowest possibly quality of card they can get away with.



Top guys used to fight much more often too.

Idk what's stopping the UFC from starting Pride FC again. Just counter ONE with their fight night level talents. Use the octagon and ufc brand for ppv. Wash outs and up and coming fighters could duke it out on the pride ring.
 
The fighters are much better; which, probably, makes it less entertaining for a huge chuck of casual fans
 
I go through phases just based on how hectic my real life is. I always find time to visit the forums and catch up, watch highlights etc.

Always a fan, and honestly, missing events for a few months doesn't change much.

Admittedly, the current roster is stale. Certainly not the golden age of the sport but it'll pick up.

I stopped being an avid MMA fan around the time when I started this Sherdog account. It went downhill when PRIDE went away.

I don't even know what a Kamaru is
 
I am more entertained and interested in BKFC these days. what alienated me from UFC is they have way too many fighters on their roster now hard to get to know any of them and follow their career. they need to have more super fights and less events. the fights and titles have to have that importance and gravity about them. they need to market the interesting fighters and fights with a ton of specials on espn or their youtube channel. fight pass is also probably what made lose interest I get even less access to fights now than in the FSN days or even the WEC days.

And on top of that, I still have to pay more for the entire fight card of any big fight. I can’t do all that right now, so that just have to read about the fights. Hey, years of the premier org not caring about legit rankings, legit titles and pushing circus fights that would make the Yakuza who ran Pride blush will turn a lot of people off to the sport.

Bring back roids, bring back the absurd sponsors on trunks and banners, then introduce knees and kicks to a downed opponent.

the only reason I tune in to rizin is for the circus and spectacle the pagentry. I think another one of the current UFC problems that got me to not watch is reebok kits made it boring and homogeneous they need that spectacle that comes with the mma scene.
 
I was huge into it in my twenties and thirties. in my 40s I feel like I have lost the pleasure in a lot of non essential things like sports. the pandemic didn't help. I enjoyed mma much better years ago. Now it seems rote, new names all the time, roster is big, obvious fake hype, etc The pageantry of Pride and even early UFC was exciting. Now I only care If I bet (which kind of sucks in itw own right as inevitably you lose more than win)
 
I'm absolutely obsessed and don't ever miss a UFC event and watch every prelim. I also watch a bunch of other orgs when I get time.
 
Entire UFC is based on fake fans who just want to tail gate an have a party ...

Are we all being stupid an not thinking the sport was invaded by people because it got popular?

If so enjoy never being able to make a profit on a sport that the fans could shift in the millions if Monster Trucks some how became cool
