Has any fighter actually asked the referee a question before touching gloves?

I always wondered why referees bother to ask if the fighters have any questions before touching gloves in the Octagon. What’s the point? The referees talk to the fighters in the locker room before the fight anyway. If you made it all the way to the UFC you probably know the rules by now. Its a waste of time.

— Gentlemen, I've explained to you the rules in the dressing room. You got any questions?
— I do, Big John, sir. What's your mobile number? All I need is a big, strong man like you to hold me through the night.

With the state of the rules, I can imagine a fighter going,
"Ok, just checking one last time, I AM allowed to throw knees with one hand on the ground right?"

I cant remember who, but there was one fighter, possibly in Pride, that always had questions for the ref, but they were silly ones like "how many angels can you fit on the head of a pin"

I think Rich Franklin used to do that to Big John occasionally too

Yoel Romero: "Ju mine eef I take a chit real qwihh?"

Dan Severn asked Big John McCarthy a riddle before the fight.

Dan Severn to big John: " If I'm on a bicycle going 10 miles an hour, and a train is traveling at 50 miles an hour, after a 30 minute ride, how many apples does Mary have in the basket?"

" she's got a monkey "

always been such a confusing exchange, on both ends lmao.

Tim Sylvia asked if there was a porta-potty cageside and if he could use it before the fight.

The rules are explained in the dressing room. It's just for show when the fight starts.

Josh Barnett did in pride, I think when he said no hitting belle here and showed the belt line he said “aww no lie blows” or something like that.

The best Barnett one was when he told the other fighter he had an eyelash on his cheek and had the other guy trying to wipe it off before telling him he was just messing with him

The only question is:

Has Anyone Really Been Far Even as Decided to Use Even Go Want to do Look More Like? “

And the answer is 42
