Has a fighter ever won by "robbery", and also admitted they lost?

No to which part? He did backtrack on it. I guess every decision is subjective but lyoto did even less than rampage in that fight IMO. Although i have not seen it for years.

he later retracted those statements saying he was influenced by Rogan who was in fact being totally unprofessional. imo
interesting, hadn't heard that. yeah rogan does like to lead guys in certain directions for sure.

And even getting a draw with Fitch was pretty impressive back then, Fitch had won 21 of his last 22 fights, losing only to GSP. So Penn really hadn't declined (much) at that point.
He dominated the first round too taking his back and all, just gassed and got laid and prayed after

I notice that during controversial fights where most would consider it a robbery,, the person who won usually declares they felt they won, e.g. Paddy beating Gordon, and today Haney beating Loma (not sure if it was a robbery, only saw highlights)

Has there been any instance where a fight was a clear robbery, and the fighter who was awarded the win admitted they felt they lost?

Also, do you think that would earn more respect from fans, by being the bigger man and admitting you robbed your opponent and should have lost?
Haney/Loma was a fight that could have gone 7-5 either was or a draw, far from a robbery. Loma had 2 rounds where he clearly won and Haney had a round he clearly won imo and the other 9 could have gone either way.

Yeah it was a 10-8 first and then Fitch did Fitch things the next two rounds. Luckily they didn’t do 5 round main events back then haha

Rampage said he thought he lost vs Machida but I thought he won.

Suga Sean was very close to admitting he lost in the cage vs Yan.

Correct, I remember it well because that was the last leg of a parlay paying 46-1 (I had Machida by decision)

Rampage versus Machida was my initial thought as well. I recall believing it was a poor decision by the judges, but I haven't seen it since the night it happened. I remember I was at Harrah's in Tahoe, actually. Anyway, the funny thing is that he was in the ring exclaiming, "Whaaat??" with a look of surprise, but then weeks later in interviews he confidently stated that he believed he'd won the fight, so apparently he changed his mind.
