From what I hear, our Thanksgiving dinner is pretty much your Christmas dinner anyway, which we don't take nearly as seriously for our own Christmas. But it is nice to have 2 large celebrations to end the year, usually allows us to split things with partners and families. Like, "We'll do Thanksgiving at mine and Christmas at yours."

And speaking of American vs UK stuff, roast dinner is one thing, but have you ever have a deep fry turkey?

It's also supposed to be done in a rural area away from houses. Clearly, reading instructions or warning labels is not our strong suit.
