Literally first time ever i read about It <lol>
France isn't on there either. Maybe there is a correlation between snobby food policing and lack of happiness.

Talk about choosing mostly white countries dam. These lists are always so off base. They just did a similar one with best suburbs in the country to live in and 3 from Long Island made the list. 2 of them are totally not affordable with snobby residents. The 3rd is nicknamed little India and unless you are Indian, you aren't moving there. I see Finland on the top of most of these lists and yet my Fin friends say they have huge issues with suicide and depression.

these ratings are awful.

everybody seems miserable every time i go to the scandinavian countries or to "first world" places.
everybody seems overjoyed, chill, good vibes when i go to shitholes.

been to norway, people were stressed about their investments
been to argentina, people that lost their job went dancing every night and were planning a trip in the mountains
been to america, oh where is out country headed
been to mongolia, dudes living in a yurt in the middle of nowhere ended every night with singing together, watching the milky way moving across the sky, were happy they had a good trip with the horses
This is so true brother. In Latin America you see poverty but you see many more happy people and good vibes than in the West

It s funny that language sounds like Ikea furniture

Well I get Australia being in the top 10... beautiful country, low unemployment, safe, little pollution, great place to live etc.

...buuuuuuut, I really think it would depend on WHO you asked about the level of happiness. If you ask middle aged people like myself who got into the property market nearly two decades ago and are fairly well off, most of us probably think it's fucking great.

If you ask young people who are coming out of school or have come out of school in recent years, who are priced out of the property market, likely permanently... pretty sure they would have a wildly different opinion: https://www.news.com.au/finance/eco...n/news-story/ca66edf0ef3488d955772ee2c5c6b8f8

"The ABS shows the national mean price of residential dwellings passed $1 million for the first time ever in the March quarter 2025 off the back of a 0.7 per cent increase in national dwelling prices."

What, in the utter fuck?

Damn, we can’t even beat Slovenia

We’re cooked

Always liked the angry Finnish girl... though she's not angry. Happiness meter seems right.

It's an assumption based on data compilation but it's mostly silly social science. You need to specifically ask residents

I find it hard to believe Canada is 15th happiest , everyone here is pretty pissed off

These ratings are hilariously biased towards a specific kind of society. Literally none of those top 5 countries are known for how happy the people who live there are. Do Swedish people even smile?

Have you ever been sad after eating Swedish meatballs?

Not being outwardly expressive all the time doesn't necessarily mean you're miserable.

We did'nt even made top 25, mamma mia! *beak hand*

It's all relative, I'm definitely happier living in Italy.

Everywhere has its pros and cons but at least we have the option of moving to 14/15 other counties on the list, if we wanted.

These rankings are pointless. The reason many people in poorer nations appear to be happier is they aren't entitled brats that think everything should go their way. You're always going to be miserable if you're mentally weak and expecting everything to go your way.

Doesn't matter where you live. Quit being a bitch. Stay hard.

I'm surprised Israel is so high. They're always getting bombed by some country.

The only thing surprising is Israel.

Then I read this. It had a valid argument I suppose.

1. Finland
2. Denmark
3. Iceland
4. Sweden
5. Israel
6. Netherlands
7. Norway
8. Luxembourg
9. Switzerland
10. Australia
11. New Zealand
12. Costa Rica
13. Kuwait
14. Austria
15. Canada
16. Belgium
17. Ireland
18. Czech Republic
19. Lithuania
20. United Kingdom
21. Slovenia
22. United Arab Emirates
23. United States
24. Germany
25. Mexico

for some reason, maybe because I'd heard it before, I suspected the happiest people to be in nordic countries, didn't think they'd top 4 spots though. America? Hell no I didn't expect to see it high, too much chasing after money, too much competition and people are just plain selfish, so selfish that it affects everyone around them.

Im just here in the US knowing damn well im in the best country in the world living an almost care free glass is half full kinda life

I would think the US would be higher really but too many people focusing on the negative that isn't impacting their daily life rather than spending the time and energy in their surroundings
Too many leftist college grads in the US that have been indoctrinated into believing that America is evil incarnate.

it's true, the entitlement in our country is off the charts, it's gotten so bad that I really don't know how much more I can take. I've never been like that and when everyone is so damned self-centered and sensitive it isn't possible to not deal with constant conflicts, blowups an misunderstandings.

most of the immigrants I ask tell me they were happier back home but they also like the money.
