HANNIBAL TV Series Discussion v.2 (Cancelled After Season 3)

I hope it moves quickly because we don't have much time with Mads.
It switches to Dollarhyde later.

Beautiful as always. Not much story going on though.

There was talk that if Hannibal had been cancelled by NBC (because of low ratings), then they would have moved this show somewhere else.

In many ways, this show would have been much much better off on a paid cable channel, where it could receive more promotion and not get drowned out. Also, the commercials ruin the dark vibes of this show. The bright & uplifting commercials always pull me out of the carefully crafted imagery.

I agree with the other posters who say it's very underwhelming compared to the previous seasons tbh. I hope it picks up again. Still enjoyable though. Just not great.

I'm quick on the mute button, just like when Jon Anik is about to break down a fight.

i think the fact that so many people are disappointed with the first episode speaks to how great the series has been thus far

cuz it was good o_o

Saw this on reddit:

In the series Hugh Dancy plays Will Graham opposite Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal Lecter. In the film King Arthur (2004), almost ten years before Hannibal, Dancy's character says: "I don't kill for pleasure. Unlike some." Mads responds with: "Well, you should try it someday. You might get a taste for it."

I liked the ep. Not really the best one, but certainly not bad. Knowing how Hannibal story lines unravel, a lesser ep can become so much more interesting as things get revealed. It was also of course mainly an introductory ep. It's a shame they switched so quickly from Paris to Italy, I was hoping they would show more of Hannibal operating in Paris, but that may still come.

Hannibal had been threatened to be canceled even on Season 1. I don't think nor hope it would happen. But it really depends if the quality of the show maintains, prolonging just for the sake of prolonging is never good.

Cant wait for this episode tonight.

I solo'd this thread last week, hopefully more posters watch this live.

first episode was better, but that was crazy as fuck. I'll allow it. I'm still good on this season.

I feel that the first Epi was better than this. I have never been a fan of Graham. But the dialogue between Graham and Abigail-split-personality-Graham indicates that one of the person, not shown this Epi, from Finale died. Wonder if it's Jack or Alana.

A question for all:
At around 32mins of the show, where Hannibal is peeking at Graham, he walk off but the screen stay on another second or so. Who is the white hair and bearded man in the painting?

Great episode, Abigail was superb in this episode.

Pace is a bit slow but I allow it, better than to rush things. This episode had everything- mindfuck moment, beautiful gore, new interesting character, Botticelli reconstruction, that catacomb scene was amazing with all mummies there and of course that corpse/dear scene was classic Hannibal.

Church looks so beautiful, wish I had visit it last time I was in Italy. Well it's on my list next time I go there.

My question is why did priest see Abigail too?

Can't wait for next episode!!

Also, I need to find this pic of Hannibal and make it into my new AV. Mads is one sexy mofo

Was thinking the same thing. The best I can come up with is that while she didn't survive, Abigail lives on inside Will as the part of him that regrets his betrayal of Hannibal, and wishes the three of them did run off to the place Hannibal had made for them. IMO it's more of a psychological thing than a spiritual one, but the priest could have really been looking at Will, seeing a part of him that's almost haunted.

Yet another reason I'm glad I download this show.
