i'd also say, though, that ultimately, it's not clear what's in the best interests of everyone long term. i'm not sure what ideological zionist means.

at the end of the day, it's in everyone's interest to have a secure israel and that only happens with an acceptance of their right to exist, as a jewish state.

This is true. You could also argue though that Trump isn't going to want to let Bibi make him look like a fool and will want this ended quickly. There's rumors that he told Bibi he wants this over and done with by the time he gets into office.
