International Hamas launches surprise attack on Israel; Israel has declared a state of war Megathread

just an audacious and reckless move. not shocking however, Likud doesn't believe in or want a two state solution

When smotrich became Finance minister in december 2022, he asked for more or he would retract his "Religious Zionist Party" from the coalition with netanyahu. After that in February 2023, he was given the power to approve or disapprove new settlements in the West Bank. I let you guess how many he didn't approve. Since that the colonization of the West Bank has exponentially intensified and if you really look at the current map, it's just a mass of disconnect palestinian villages encircled by a mass of settlers. only the big cities remain, and even those are under military control.

I'm wondering how the hell she even got in there. It can't be as easy as just flying over there and walking right in, right? There'd have to be checkpoints everywhere. Maybe an aid worker who strayed off the path? Maybe they just let one go in and find out for themselves?

Then again, it could just be an old video of some random hostage taking, being presented as new. That happens quite a lot too.

Aid worker sounds the most likely of those scenarios. Fuck knows, though.

Ummm... fucking hell.

Israel’s far-right security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, is advancing legislation in the Knesset that would impose heavy fines and police confiscation powers to restrict the Muslim call to prayer (Adhan) across the occupied Palestinian territories.

Media reports said on Sunday that the proposed bill would ban the installation or operation of loudspeaker systems in mosques without a permit in Palestinian cities, particularly within the 1948 occupied territories.

Unlike current procedures, permits would no longer be granted automatically but would instead require what the draft law describes as “careful examination.”

If approved, the legislation would apply broadly to areas under Israeli control and full occupation.

Ben-Gavir said that the proposed law would provide police with enforcement tools they currently lack.

The hawkish minister claimed that the call to prayer harms the quality of life and health of residents.

The move follows directives issued last year by Ben-Gvir instructing police to begin seizing mosque loudspeakers used for the Adhan under the pretext that the call to prayer “disturbs settlers.”

The extremist minister also called for fines to be imposed in cases where confiscation of loudspeakers was not possible.

Under the proposal, operating mosque loudspeakers without a permit would carry a fine of 50,000 shekels, while violations of permit conditions would be punishable by a 10,000-shekel fine.

In addition to financial penalties, the bill grants police the authority to confiscate sound equipment in the field, enabling the immediate seizure of mosque loudspeakers during enforcement actions by the Israel police.

An excellent advert for the use of condoms, that cunt.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir is reportedly interfering in responses to Freedom of Information Law requests submitted to the police, in an apparent violation of the law.

According to a report from the Kan public broadcaster, Ben Gvir’s office has been instructing the unit responsible for handling freedom-of-information matters to forward specific requests to his ministry for approval.

Sources speaking to the outlet claim his office demanded to review requests for data regarding Jews detained on the Temple Mount, West Bank enforcement and crime statistics. The far-right minister is a vocal advocate of expanding Jewish prayer rights at the flashpoint holy site and has visited it repeatedly.

World hunger could have been solved with the amount of money the USA gave to israel the last two years. Let that sink in

Israel just banned Doctors Without Borders and 37 NGOs in total from Gaza. It's insane. Insane. Those people have been decimated and what is done after Bibi's visit with trump is to get them LESS ESSENTIAL AID. Insanity
