Halloween or Friday the 13th, which do you prefer?

I think Friday 13th 1 to 4 and Halloween 1 &2 are the best.

But that seems to be most people belief who have seen all the films. Freddy vs Jason was also good. Overall I like Friday the 13th more

Franchise vs. franchise- it’s a little more dicey but I’d still give it to Halloween. Other than Jason Lives, none of the Friday movies even strike me as particularly good. Some of the early stuff is fun and worth a watch but you can’t compare it to the best that the Halloween movies have to offer.

I’d say Halloween, Halloween 2, Season of the Witch, H20, Halloween 2018 are better than the vast majority of the Friday films.

The lows are similarly low but the highs for Halloween are higher.

It’s certainly far better than the dregs of the franchise though- the one with the great Paul Rudd and the Druid curse stuff and the ridiculous reality show one.

Only thing I like about that one is Busta and Michael squaring off for the hilarity.

its pretty lame and mike is not himself in that flick i would easily pick the strong friday entries over it. if it was h20 or even friday the 13th part 3 ...id prolly choose three

All of them were really cute, but the one you posted was on another level .

I love that second one, all time fav horror chick!

Original Halloween is amazing and on another level, and I love H20 as well, but overall I love the Friday series more.

Agree Part 6 is when FT13 hit its stride. Part 7 is pretty much a continuation of 6 and perhaps a little more hokey, but that was the point. I like them both.

Not even close. I just watched Halloween last week and no way. There is so much cheeseball shit. So much of the dialogue is just utter cheeseball shit.
The beginning where little mike is standing there with a bloody knife....everyone just stands motionless for like a whole 40 second pullaway shot.

The girls are walking and some car drives by slowly and girl says, "speed kills"... just so much cringey ass dialogue in Halloween it isn't even funny...and really nothing is funny in halloween. At least F13 gets a few funny moments in it like the whole bit with the cop on the motorcycle.

As far as scares, F13 destroys H, especially the end of F13.

The acting in F13 is actually really good. It feels just natural. H has so much dumbass dialogue from HIGH SCHOOL KIDS that sound like some boomer talking. The kids from H are just terrible.

Of course the story itself F13 is way better. H some little kid for no real reason kills his sister and comes back to kill a bunch of people. Now you could say, Well, he is just pure evil that is why.
OR you could just say, That is some lazy fucking writing

F13 has a good story and good motivation for the murderer and a bit of a twist.

And of course the gore effects in F13 are some of the best.

I think people look at H with rose tinted glasses.

It really just depends on what style you prefer, a horror film, or a slasher flick.

FT13, while enjoyable aren't anywhere near scary. Just campy slaughter sprinkled with teenage nudity. Great combo by the way, just not that scary.

Halloween, especially the first one really relies on suspense to achieve horror. The Shape really is a terrifying character even if he isn't the meat grinder that Jason is.

Personally I prefer to watch a movie that might actually be scary, so I'll always lean towards Halloween. If I want a popcorn flick to laugh at I'll choose FT13.

By the way, I enjoyed Rob Zombies Micheal Myers. I like a Myers that doesn't just stab you, but he beats the shit of you with a butcher knife. Myers needed an overhaul in the brutality department.

Halloween 1 > every other movie in both series.

However, Halloween movies aside from 1, 2 and 4 were pretty bad. H20 was "ok". 5 and 6 were trash. Resurrection was stupid. They tried to stay serious horror too long.

Friday the 13th hits its peak at 4. I never did like 1 as much as most people. 2 was better. 3 was met. 5 was awful. 6 was comedy level awesome. They decided to stop trying to be serious horror and it worked. 7 was neutered in editing to remove violence but was basically carrie vs Jason, which was fun. 8 should have been called "Jason takes the cruise ship" and was awful.

Jasons dead the final Friday was again, semi funny crap. Jason X was almost comedy gold. Fucking robo Jason lol.

As for remakes? The Friday the 13th movie was great. It combined 1 through 4 and did a good homage. Halloween: white trash , by rob zombie was horrid
