I always wonder if and how much tip at a Sonic.
Servers live on "slave" wage.
Most servers can't even afford a meal at the restaurant they work at based on the average hourly wage of $2.50 an hour. Blame the lobbyists for creating this standard wage.
If the servers don't make tips, they are practically working for free after tax deductions from paychecks.
Corporations would be foolish to completely give up their slaves.
Some corporations would even cheer for joy if they had an opportunity to shackle you up to a chain and keep you in the dungeon overnight if they could.
It literally makes me cringe that some people don't tip 20%. If that's you, here's a little FYI... You embarrass everyone that's with you if you're out in a group. If you don't have the money to tip, you don't have the money to be eating/drinking out, or ordering in.

Im in the service industry, so I tip 20-25% anywhere I eat.
I usually tip 20% but if you give me shitty service and let me die of thirst and hunger then I may give you 5%. And if you ask I'll tell you that you suck to your face.
Come at me bro.
Say you go to a restaurant where you order at the counter and get your own drinks. A 'waitress' brings the food to your table with utensils as well as bus it after you've left. How much, if any, would you tip at a place like this and how much do you normally tip at a full service place?
Same question for a buffet style restaurant where wait service takes your dirty dishes and refills drinks.
Also, has anyone worked at a partial service place like these? Are you legally considered a tipped position and do you get less than minimum wage?
This is always the crux if this issue. I'm sure they depend on tips. That doesn't mean they deserve them . I depend on my bonus at work. It doesn't mean I earned it by showing up.
My favorite is the tip jar out at the DIY frozen yogurt joint.
I come in, grab my own cup, build my own sundae, then weigh it and pay the guy behind the counter. THAT guy has a tip jar.
THAT guy was also a 6'6" 250lb Samoan guy who was giving me the stink eye. You're gawtdamn right I tipped him.
20% ??? I thought it was 15% standard.....
