Gus comments defending Swedish fighters

I think you are taking his words a bit too literally man.

If that is really how they diet and train in Sweden they have a lot to learn.

Obviously not, the weightloss would be rapid and eventually stop them from even training. Gus simply has no clue (but does what he's told, which isn't what he says, so it's ok).

No one makes weight easily.

her last couple of weight cuts have been pretty much documented, I believe she did a video blog during her last cut she might have done one for the one before that too

When I was prepping for mma fights while dieting i still ate 3000+ calories a day and lost weighing because of so much training. Weight cutting the week of sucks donkey balls and you are really hungry but its only a week. Typically im about 165 all the time, 160lbs 2 weeks out and cut around 12 lbs of water weight for a fight at 145lbs.

This is much more in line with that I was expecting. I can't imagine how they'd train on a starvation diet and expect good results in the cage. Even a week seemed like a long time for the final cut. I was thinking they dehydrate in the last 1-2 days before weigh-ins.

Probably just a figure of speech & not meant to be taken literally.

Nova Uniao training Swedes these days?

Ronda use to eat one meal a day and blueberries during camps to get to 135 before she hired a nutritionist

You're wrong, she was put on that diet by a nutritionist, Chad Waterbury. I don't know if she still works with him, she was last year.

Anyway, that was more of a publicity stunt. The one meal a day was used as a reset just for a short period of time not a permanent thing, Chad changed her eating plan slowlly, using these 7-10 days intervals.

Professional athletes that have money don't lose weight like the rest, they have acces to all sort of substances, pharmacy plays a big part and I'm not just talking peds. You try to come down from a weight where you're a fit athelete while adding/ keeping muscle mass and beeing in fighting shape- good luck with that.

She said she would eat one big meal at night and eat blueberries and drink coffee the rest of the day idk why you would think that was a publicity stunt lol, I didn't know she had a nutritionist before but she credits Dolce for her diet change.

Struggling with illness, her weight and an infection on her right hand, Rousey knew she had to do something different.

I felt bad for the swedes, their fighters ate shit all night. I think one guy on the undercard got a decision though.

Kinda like the first return to Japan card a few years back, nearly all japanese fighters got demolished.

I wonder if it's actually worse for a lot of guys fighting with huge crowd support for added pressure.

Brock used to pour on the calories (5000 or so I'm not sure) during training cause his metabolism + "rigorous" training burns it as fast as he ingests it and he he makes the cut easily (265) according to him.
