Law Gun and Gun Control News/Discussion

He agrees with "assault" weapon bans but claims to be "pro gun."
I’ve never claimed to be pro-gun. Rob claimed that I claimed I was pro-gun.

What I have said is that I don’t have the aim of taking everyone’s guns away. That also doesn’t mean I support any gun being used by anybody for any purpose.

Wanting certain guns banned based on cosmetics and not function isn't common sense.

Looks like straw purchases are finally being addressed on some noticeable level.

President Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act last summer, making it a federal crime to traffic in firearms and stiffening penalties for “straw purchases” made on behalf of people who aren’t allowed to own guns.

Since then, new data from federal prosecutors shows they’ve charged 31 people in 17 cases under the new legislation.

I'm about to purchase my first firearm. Been interesting having to go through dealers and look at my state's firearm regulations to know what is legal and what isn't. Definitely seems like being a gun owner is not the same everywhere in the country. My state just recently changed the law regarding magazine size for rifles and handguns.

Visited my buddy in Missouri the other weekend and he literally laughed at all the regulations and shit that my state has. It's like living in another country almost.

Columbia area. Im in St Louis. Unfortunately
At least you're on that side of the river. I'm 20 miles across the river in Commi-nois. Our Morbidly Obese Governor (any day now, heart!) and the Moms Demand Action cunts have gone to war on guns, mags and now trying to ban body armor! Even a gun registry!

Meanwhile, turning a complete blind-eye to the gun violence in Chicago. "aLL dA GUnS R COminG fROm iNDiANA!!!"

One cesspool or the other

Now they need to get to the stupid pistol brace crap and get it out of here . . . .

That loophole is stupid, but then again the whole "short rifle" law is stupid as well. The ONLY reason we have restriction on "short rifles" is due to an attempted many decades ago to ban handguns, and writers of that law included measures to ensure that people couldn't just convert their rifle or shotgun to a handgun to get around the handgun ban. Of course the handgun ban failed, but for some stupid reason the rule about converting your rifle to a handgun remained.

citation requested.

see, i just called you a liar. and there's ANOTHER lie. seems to be your MO... and a common one, these days.

i called you out for claiming you're not anti-gun... with a fuckload of proof that you are. the closest to calling you pro-gun was a sarcastic question.

Yep. I've heard that story many times . . . someone was lazy. Or had an agenda.

I'm surprised this tweet is still up. You'd think that one of the more heavily armed states (in their words) having a lower gun homicide rate than the national average would tell them something.
