GSP's striking > Silva's striking

Post USADA this is actually true

GSP > Bisping > Anderson

GSP had one hell of a jab and covered a lot of distance quickly. With that said, Silva picks that jab off with ease and treats him like Forrest Griffin.

Nah it would be more like Chael than forrest probably

Nah Chael had success because he was just relentless and pressure the hell out of Andy, which is the opposite of what GSP does.
Even though Prime Silva is a bad match up to anybody. Is specially a bad match up for GSP

GSP is more technical for sure, but Silva is by far a more effective striker. At his best, Silva would take the first 3-4 minutes and learn his opponent's timing, then he would come on strong at the end of the first and beginning of the second. He could choose when to end the fight. GSP could never do that. His technique is flawless, but he doesn't have Silva's instincts, power, or precision. He punched Kos 300 times and didn't knock him out. Does anybody doubt Silva would have finished Kos and never come close to 300 punches?

So Silva is better than no one?

There is a long list of fighters with better striking than Mr Tap to Serra GSP.

Anderson is a better striker than all of them.

To compare the number 1 in striking to number 30 or so is a joke.

That's why GSP avoided Silva like the plague when they were both in their primes....
Well,yeah..he didnt want to crush his leg in half like Weidman did.

GSP destroyed bisping on the feet, he made it look easy.

Can't agree with that, it looked like Bisping might be starting to gain control of the fight before GSP landed the fight ending shot.

can anyone remember GSP throwing a three punch combo that wasn't double jab cross???????

I agree, Silva is the much better pure striker, that said, double-jab cross is basically one of two combos Manny Pacquiao ever threw.

Square enix knows it and chose GSP as an ambassador for their game being the clear best striker in the UFC, not silva ...

I’m a GSP fan but no. It’s silly to say that. It has to be plausible. His take downs were better.

GSP had pretty good timing strikes but he did not threaten people with his strikes like anderson.

Dont @ me.

It looked like gsp was winning the majority of the striking exchanges with Bisping to me. He clearly outstruck him in round one, then it was certainly closer, but there was never a part in that fight where I thought "Bisping is winning" other than the cuts from the elbows on the mat.

I don't think it reached the stage were Bisping was clearly winning but he size did seem to be telling, GSP couldnt really do much on the ground and arguably took worse shots and Bispings pressure standing did seem to be building.

Watching that I'm not sure I'd pick GSP to win that match if it goes to a decision although of course theers a good argument it did happen post prime for him as well just like Silva.

GSP is a great kicker too. I'm not sure why people only talk about his jab when it comes to his striking. His kicks, especially with his lead leg, are a big part of his game. He knocked hughes down with one and the rounds he outstruck hendricks was because of his kicks.

This is an outlandish take. Silva's strength is his striking. GSP was a tremendous all around fighter but he can't strike the way Silva did.
