GSP's striking > Silva's striking

People forget how great GSP’s striking was before the Serra fight. He had quick hands and lethal kicks, he basically stopped kicking all together in his later fights and even his boxing turned more into jabs for distance control and to disrupt the timing of his opponents.

Who did GSP really beat in terms of aggressive striking matches though? he came off worst against two LW's.

As an aggressive striker, no I don't think GSP was THAT great, he wasnt bad but I wouldnt say he was close to the best either. He was IMHO quite stiff, didnt have great combos or extreme power and his chin was just ok.

What GSP was clearly exellent at was fighting on the outside standing behind the threat of the takedown and thats why he shifted to make this his main style post Serra loss.

do u have gif of the rematch ? lucky punches are a thing mate.
No, they're not. GSP was my favorite fighter, but Serra beat him like a rented mule. Shit happens. Silva got submitted by Chonan. If these 2 fought 100 times, how many wins do you think Chonan gets?

Quite a few at that point, many think he would have won the decision without the sub.

He did say it. You know what GSPs response was? "I need to talk to my coaches and my managers".
GSP would have fought Silva if he came down to 170. He was the champ. It's not like he could avoid who the UFC put in front of him. But Silva didn't want to fight at 170. Those are facts. Not "he said, she said".

Know your facts before quoting people.

Silva has a history of picking on smaller opponents. Conor McGregor is a recent one.
