GSP won't fight Khabib (yet)

In his most recent tweet GSP stated that Khabib had unfinished business with the UFC, and that he would rather wait for that to be dealt with before fighting him.

The only reason GSP came back at all was to cement his legacy as the greatest P4P fighter, he was already set for life money wise.

GSP will wait for the Conor vs Khabib fight. Conor is the current lineal LW champ. GSP is the current lineal WW champ and the current lineal MW champ. Legacy wise, in the history books, GSP is only interested in lineal fights.

GSP will fight whoever wins between McGregor and Khabib, then ride into the sunset as the lineal LW, WW and MW champ.
 
I don't understand what he's waiting for. He isn't getting any younger. This is the perfect opportunity. Someone at LW calling him out.

Khabib won't fight until November. If he fights Conor or whoever, he won't fight for at least another 6 months. That puts us in 2019. GSP will be what, 38?

I think GSP should jump at the opportunity to fight Khabib for the title.

If Khabib Vs Conor happens, then who knows if the winner will want to fight GSP or what will happen by then.

Khabib has asked for GSP multiple times now. He just won the title and his popularity is at a high right now. I think GSP should take that opportunity before it goes away.
 
He could beat khabib now and it wouldn't seen huge, but if khabib goes on to become WW champ later and goes on a long streak looking back it will be a big feather in George's cap. In theory
 
I'd be disappointed if GSP fought Khabib. It's a very easy match-up for him. Either fight Woodley/Whittaker or stay retired.
 
Why would GSP waste his time on a low pay fight with a guy who brings nothing to the table $$$ wise???

Ya, that will not be happening. Woodley would have KOed the Khabib from last night. I think Khabib's prime has come and gone. I don't think we will see the world beater that Khabib was again.
 
GSP is banking on Conor beating Khabib to get his belt back to get that money fight. GSP is a 900k fighter. McGregor is a 1.5 million fighter

GSP is the second biggest draw in MMA and the #1 P4P fighter of all time on a massive winning streak, he can get any fight he wants, at any weight, any time.
 
GSP's injury will keep him out for quite a while. If he does come back, there are better fights for his legacy than an LW.
 
GSP is not 13 years old anymore.
He's never going to fight at LW.
Get that thought out of your head.

Lineal from Jens Pulver? I seriously doubt that. Or is it Lineal in a way that's not really lineal and just goes from Sherk.

Edit ok I can see how he is even including Pulver :)

Pulver > Ludwig > Penn > Edgar > Henderson > Pettis > Alvarez > Conor

Ferguson and Kebab were given fake belts.
 
The only thing that would get GSP to get back in the cage is a fight with Conor.

It's his biggest payday by far and it isn't even close.

Based off of one fight with a crazy lead up that was also his first title shot? I think he passed that test with flying colors

Winners fight in a SUPERFIGHT
 
GSP would beat Khabib so badly, Khabib wouldn’t get a takedown and would be lit up on the feet.
