What is with all these GSP threads lately? Yeah he recently retired, but he basically did retire way back in 2013.. What am I missing??
GSP was smart...
That’s why he had such an astounding career as a mixed martial artist.
Yeah I'm sure Conor made more money for doing it better with a couple of quick KO's into Aldo and Alvarez. No matter what losses Conor took, those two wins were electrifying and that's why he soared up to make more money than GSP.BINGO!! Do we remember all the guys in the UFC that had that "War stand and bang" mentality? Nope. Why? Because they made about 10/10 a fight and maybe got the occasional FOTN bonus. Then Dana fired them..

Jon Jones has pretty good numbers cause he can finish people and is elite. That is 1 guy.. 1.. How many fighters did the UFC use up and spit out? GSP won in more ways than one..

GSP is lucky, I honestly think his phony style if it happened in 2018 rather than like 07 would be like Tyron Woodley stinking up the joint with low views.
Why take damage when you don’t have to?
He portrayed himself as the karate guy, always with a GI and a headband. This is him going to the cage

He even made a Japanese tattoo on his chest:

He used to run in the snow and scream: WAAAAAAAR
But once he stepped into that cage, he would go for the flying double under instantly:

and then lay n pray

He was a safe fighter, he won 50 rounds, never finishing a fight. He became the safest fighter of them all after he got KOd by Serra. Its all good though, but why do you think he likes to be viewed as a Bushido fighter, a Karate guy, when he was THE MMA resler?

Hawk.... His name was Hawk.Costume. This really isn’t that different than Hulk and Animal coming out with spiked shoulder pads on.
Lol time to give you a lesson bud. GSP scored crazy finishes; thing is GSP fought number 1 ranked fighters again and again in their primes. Conor couldn't defend a title. These are just facts. Conor made his money, no doubt.. Don't forget GSP helped keep the sport mainstream before Conor's rise.Yeah I'm sure Conor made more money for doing it better with a couple of quick KO's into Aldo and Alvarez. 3rd dan black belt in Kyokushin Karate[6]Karate was his original martial art and what ultimately introduced him to MMA. Styles aside, he was still a black belt in... Kyokushin?
