Most people want to see the super fight, bj isn't considered mediocre he is one of the best of all time, after the gsp fight he wasnt considered p4p king but he was still great, he fell from it when he lost to edgar . I haven't watched wwe since I was a little kid I still want to see a super fight and so does everyone else, stop it with this real fan BS.

After the superfight Penn actually looked great against Sanchez and Florian.

Also Penn's rivalry with GSP and Hughes is one of the highlights of his career.

Why not just ban title fights since it can destroy a fighter's career too.
 
Everyone knows Silva has superior skills. Especially GSP and his fans despite them being in denial about it.
 
lol I find it funny how GSP fans think it's some type of size mismatch now when a couple years ago they used to brag about how GSP would dominate Silva with takedowns and would cite GSP outwrestling Rashad in training as proof that GSP would be able to take Silva down at will.
 
Both. That's why this fight makes no sense. Silva is bigger and better.
 
To remove the size part the fight should be at 170.

I really wish people that are Silva fans would stop talking like this. As a Silva fan, it's an embarrassment. As a GSP fan who wants this fight to happen, it's simply astounding due to your level of ignorance.

I absolutely, positively want this fight to happen. I really do want to see who the greatest fighter in the world today is, and a win for either guy is essentially the guarantee that their legacy will be cemented as the greatest fighter in the world in their time. I think GSP has all the skills to beat Anderson. His MMA wrestling is the best in the game, his takedowns are the best in UFC history, and he knows enough BJJ to not get caught in a triangle the way Sonnen did. He's also probably the most intelligent fighter in terms of fight IQ.

Now I'm also a Silva fan, and I know this is a tough match up for GSP due to Silva's other-worldly striking. He combines things that no one else can combine; he fights like no one else can fight, and takes your soul in the process. And that's why I want to see if GSP can solve the Silva puzzle, or if Silva can simply assert his dominance and add GSP's soul to his collection.

It's all unknown, and I really, really want to find out. So please, do not assume that all GSP fans are making excuses for why this fight shouldn't happen or make asinine demands like make the fight at 170. It's not even up to the fans how this fight does or does not happen, it's up to the UFC and the fighters and their trainers and camps. We don't really have a say in who fights who, I mean Chael Sonnen is fucking fighting Jon Jones!

It's clearly skill

GSP knows the only way he could beat Anderson is to turn into Ubereem and pray he could go out there and hold him down for 3-5 rounds.

Skill wise GSP would be a fool to trade with Anderson. GSP's striking is good but Anderson is a master. Anderson doesn't care about take downs. GSP is not a finisher on the ground and that leaves Anderson always in the fight to come back and KO him at any given time.

Anderson is just too deadly for GSP, that's the real reason he doesn't want to fight. Anderson is accurate, he punches , kicks and knees with KO power. GSP's entire game plan would be to avoid the fire power. That's not the same GSP. He can no longer set up jabs and kicks without fear of being countered to sleep, which is Anderson specialty.

GSP wins round and his specialty is getting that take down to eat up the clock. GSP basis his strategies on over powering people at 170 most of the time and using 50 percent of the skills he's trained for that's the problem. I have yet to see him go all out and that's what it will take against Anderson. Anderson unlike most MMA fighters has beyond patience, the ability to blue print a fighter and the skill to capitalize of one mistake, a bad movement or reaction and end the fight. GSP see's this as the rest of the logical people.

It's a major risk for him to fight Anderson. There is no doubt GSP can get a take down but after what Silva has been through and what he does to people that shouldn't make you confident at all. People think GSP doesn't have any holes in his game but he's not a finisher and he leaves the door open.
 
The size difference is the reason why GSP would be to small at 185 and ironically Andy would be to small at 170 to compete against GSP.....ain't life grand?

Do people saying skills really think that Silva would beat GSP at 170?

In terms of skill they are very close. GSP has no real holes in his game.. Nothing that is obvious to attack.. Silva is the better striker and has a better offensive JJ game but GSP has amazing sub defense, and the best wrestling in MMA.. GSP is good everywhere..

In terms of skills, GSP has better wrestling, Anderson has better striking, probably about the same BJJ skills for both.

With the combo of skill difference and size difference, GSP will probably lose.

Of course, that seems to be true all around. Bendo would probably lose to GSP. GSP would probably lose to Anderson. Anderson would probably lose to Jones. Jones would probably lose to JDS.

Pretty much true all the way around except Jones will fight at HW eventually and GSP at MW eventually IMO..
 
Size. And that picture isn't nearly accurate. It'll look worse than Condit/GSP squaring off at weigh-ins.
