Throwback GSP vs Bisping revisited

Why does Ping gets so much hate on here?

'member when old heads would rip their hair out when people called Bisping "Ping"?

Anyway, no one on this thread is actually hating on ol' Ping ITT, they downplay his achievments so GSP's crazy win over him doesn't look too impressive to newcommers.

Before the fight took place, the consensus was that if Ping wins, he'd have beaten 2 goats in Silva and GSP and now that he has "avenged" his loss to Hendo (I still see that one as a draw, but whatever) he would retire as a legend that no one could surpass.
(beating 2 of the top 5 consensus GOATs, not "official ufc goats", we know how these turn out in the long term, and walking off in the sunset)

On the other hand, if GSP, already a solid top 3 goat at this point (if you remove steroid addicts cheats like Jones or Silva then it's not even a contest), comes out of retirement after 4 years to take on the reigning, defending, MW champ it would officially solidify his position as the numba 1 goat forever.

Bisping is much bigger, spent half his career at 205, great TDD (stuffed so many of Chael's TDs, these gifs were constantly spammed as to why GSP wouldn't be able to take his down and keep him there since he's much stronger), has super crisp boxing, can easily go 5 rounds, has only be ubbed by Rockhold who has insane grappling skills especially from top, it's a nightmare match-up for St-Pierre, what can he do?

His usual great cardio might not look great after 4 years of octagon rust, and it showed since even if Rush dominated the first round on every single score-card ever, he gassed (his illness probably didn't help) and even if he managed to keep the second round even (some give it to Bisping, some to GSP like sum Sherdog judge dun did), so watching Rush grit his teeth and knock Ping down, and then finishing him there, dat was somethin' aight.

Sherdog was in a rut for a few days after that, and then the slimy GSP haters (how can you hate the guy so much?) mounted a counter-attack
-Ping was actually never any good, and only had one eye
-GSP cherry-picked him as an easy win, scrub all traces of our circlejerk threads
-it's suspicious GSP, a small WW, had so much power, did he take roids maybe? Careful how you phrase it, can result in an instant ban under certain circumstances; like djinns and the sphinx the mods are tricky creatures by nature.
-GSP immediately gave the belt back because he knew he couldn't fight for a long time because of his diverticulis, so he doesn't want to clog the division like The Count did. Use that against him! "Kid didn't want to fight" from Dana would be great, but we can still pretend he said it.

And here we are today, holy sheeeit it was almost a decade ago?? 2017? The year we got the pretty daamn cool RIZIN World GP 2017 (in 3 parts) for New Year's Eve with Baki on the poster for round 2 \o/
RIZIN Fighting World Grand Prix 2017

Time flies as you age, but GSP remains classy while some of the other big PPV stars are making spectacles of their lives (mainly BJ, Conor & JJ, but Anderson getting smacked around by Jake Paul was not a good look for MMA; the losses before that we could make excuses for, but that one?)

Bisping murdered gsp for 5 rounds until gsps coaches had him come in low on bisping blind eye side to ko him.. a sucky fight.. gsp wouldn't have faught anybody else top 5 in that division I think we all know why.

Nice

GSP went up in weight and choked the champ unconscious after retiring because he blew both of his ACL’s.

He had colitis during the fight as well as after, which never gets mentioned. He also had never fought at MW before in his life, and instead of taking some time at the weight class or tune up fights fought and beat the champ right away.

His body had been ruined by a long career, Bisping was landing good shots and hurting him, but with guts and brains he powered through and finished the fight.

The narrative that he “cherry picked a blind old beggar” is total horseshit, spread by dumbass hater bitches
