GSP retirement timing had nothing to do with steroids.

I think it was a combo of losing some interest as well as getting beat up by Johny. Dude spent a loooooooot of time in that octagon & took a lot of blows to the head. He did the smart thing unlike every other legend & left while he was still on top.

Well, the retirement rumors started before the fight with Hendricks.
 
Regardless of the reason, he put in a lot of work and had one of the best careers of all time. Took on all challengers, beat a lot of solid opposition. True legend.
 
GOAT welterweight, but it's a big ? If he was on gear or not. His pears has already accused him if it &whwre there is smoke there is fire.

Why is it smart or important to leave on top?

Could be big pay days missed out on.
Maybe the fighter enjoys training/fighting even if they're not the best any more.
And losing a few at the end doesn't negate someone's body of work.

It's just bothersome to see guys go on when they have nothing left to prove, taking damage as they regress. Hendo, Anderson, Fedor for example.

Never did accuse him, imo he is one of the greatest fighters to ever compete, it's just a lot of people has accused him of ped and such.

one of the benefits of steroids is drive, motivation n overall feel good cause of all that testosterone in the body.

gsp seemed lacking some near the end, so you might be on to something...

still doesnt explain his suspicious behavior before the hendricks fight
 
Bad things would've happened if he kept fighting from 2014 until present time. He saw the writing on the wall. Somebody eventually would've caught him or TKO'd him.
 
This horse's corpse was already smelly in 2016. It's called lying, by the way. GSP left because of USADA and made up excuses. Lying.
