No I'm not talking about Jones robbing people for drug money.

When GSP got the gift decision vs Henricks everyone was up in arms and some still are today. Imagine if he had 3 gift decisions like that. Imagine if 2 of those were his fights with Hardy and Alves.... That is Jones. He had 3 gift decisions Gus1, Santos and Reyes.

And before Jones stans bring up GSP losing to Hughes and Serra, that's called facing challenges and taking risks. Yes GSP fought not to lose after the Serra loss but Jones has been doing that his whole career. Size bully, fighting as low risk as possible and competing to not lose rather than to win. Furthermore at least GSP was kill or be killed for the first part of his career and was still GOAT level

The fact is some of those guys were just competitive with Jones and people wanted him to lose. This is no different then people trying to say Mayweather had gift decisions when he reasonably won all his fights.

Maybe I've seen one fight that I scored against Jones.


No one is up in arms about GSP beating Hendricks. If you didn't make this thread today literally no one would be thinking about that. Why are you pretending like there is some weird double standard as if people do not always bring up Jones close decisions to discredit him?

It's been a long time but I think I had Santos winning. I might be confusing it with Reyes, but I'm pretty sure it was the Santos fight.

I definitely thought he deserved the W over Gus (or at least there was nothing wrong with it). It was the first competitive fight he had so him getting the decision and upsetting people was probably just a knee-jerk reaction.

The Reyes fight wasn't a close fight or a hard fight to score.
It was a clear as day 3-2 for Reyes.

The Gus & Santos fights were close, indeed. They could have gone either way.
GSP vs Hendricks was also close and hard to score.
Hendricks clearly did more damage.

Khabib vs Tibau is way more of a robbery.

Not a hardcore Khabib fan, but come on.
It was a very, very boring fight.
Tibau did nothing in that fight.
I don't think he even landed two punches.
At least Khabib tried to win.

Nothing landed in that gif besides the body shot and maybe 1 grazing punch after the TD attempt. Head kick was mostly blocked and everything else Jones defended well.

Lol Reyes lands like 2 strikes with any sort of effect in that gif. The effect is also minimal.

This is the best gif that people have in the reyes fight against jones. It's pretty crazy how every other goat candidate you can spam countless bad moments, yet everyone wants to talk about Jones/Reyes fight, just because he didn't dominate it. Hell GSP/Condit had a worse moment.

Reyes gassed hard and early, and Jones took over. Most unofficially give champs the nod when fights are close, it's the "to be the champ, you have to beat the champ" quote. It's why many gave GSP the Hendricks fight.

Even if you score this as a loss in your head, every other goat candidate has worse.
MM: Had a draw for the 125 title, lost to cejudo and others.
GSP: Serra, Hughes, Hendricks
Silva: Lost a ton before UFC, and lost basically every right after the title
Fedor: tons of losses discounted as being "out of prime" after Werdum loss.

I think objectively the Reyes fights don't matter, but even if they did his competition has worse actual losses. Reyes dumped his whole gas tank in the first 2 rounds and still this gif is the only real thing he landed that was significant. Jones controlled most the fight.
