If your gonna come back why not do it to get paid as much as possible? Come in and take out a well known champion becoming the 4th fighter ever to have won titles in two different UFC divisions!!!

Than vacate to fight the most popular UFC champion of all time, who also happens to be the third man to accomplish what you just did. No title = no problem with a 3Million ppv buy fight imo
 
Thing is GSP has had his time defending the belt.

I don't blame him going for the money now, he's proved himself to me.
 
I don't have any problem with what he did. He came back and showed that his striking and grappling is STILL on point. He doesn't owe the fans anything. He fights for himself.

He established his legacy years ago, if he wants to come back to make big money with some fun if meaningless fights then I'm happy to watch.

This is my feeling. The pressure of defending for years is what burned him out in the first place. He just wants to have fun and make some money before retirement.
 
Prize fighting isn't a team sport (which is why unions don't work).

Fuck it, I'm down with what GSP did... especially if he is putting on entertaining fights for once. I'm tired of seeing the end of career legends getting blasted into CTE by the up and coming studs/

GSP is smart. Beat Bisping for a payday and a belt? Easy money. He looked like shit and still finished him. I love how he came in and completely fucked Dana. Now he gets to go back to making sponsorship money and being rich.

the reason people are mad is not because they don't understand what GSP did.
it is because GSP was all about the sport, then comes back and fucks the sport for making some money he could have made without fighting (i.e. in movies).
People were excited because one of the good guys were coming back. they didn't know he turned into a Conor wannabe.

Even if we ignore the PED issues, the only thing Jones may have over GSP is finishes. I'm pretty sure GSP has him in every other category any way.
