GSP continues to be the greatest WW of all time by leaps and bounds

He beat Woodley, Colby x2, Leon, Strickland, RDA, Burns, Maia, Jorge x2, without getting Matt Serra'd on the way. So yes, he was, like I said, 3-4 more wins away from having an argument. The fact you took that level of issue with a post saying someone got derailed 3-4 fights from being at GSPs level suggests you need to get his nuts out of your mouth.
Colby hasn’t beaten a fighter coming off a win in 7 years, Leon was 24 and 2-1 in the ufc, Strickland was un ranked and not very good at welterweight, RDA is good but wasn’t in his prime at welterweight, burns is good but not special, maia was 41 coming off 2 straight losses with a perfect stylistic matchup for usman, never beat a top 10 opponent ever again, Jorge was chronically over ranked and beat till diaz and askren for a short notice title shot then got gifted another title shot

Big Facts.

That dude obviously has a hard on for GSP.

He must of forgot how GSP got KO'ed by a midget, subbed by one dimensional Matt Hughes, lost to Hendricks.

Oh and was caught greasing.
Ye cause getting caught is something usman never experienced, right? And Matt hughes the guy with something like 10 title defenses was soooo bad, and Hendricks who has wins like condit, lawler, koscheck, brown, fitch, kampMann, yeah what an embarrassing loss

3 of the 7 guys you named he beat when he wasnt champion look at gsp names he beat coming up not including champion its not even close tubby

I understand living in 2013 I want to return there too but what you're saying is simply not true.

This post rhymes btw.

I think Usman was getting within 3-4 wins of having a legitimate case but then the wheels came off.

Everyone else has a long way to go.
Indeed, GSP is my favorite UFC WW of all times, and I was split when Kamaru Usman was only 2 or 3 fights away from being a serious contender for his GOAT status...

Especially since I owed Kamaru one for dethroning Woodley, back when Tyrone was the one who was a few defenses away from having a shot at competing against St-Pierre (back then GSP haters were already claiming that Woodley was nipping at his heels)

So, Leon headkicking Usman in their first rematch was good for my agenda, but I would have been happier has Usman taken the belt back.
He could have continued carving his path, but with a clean knock out loss to a "journeyman striker" like Edwards in the middle of his run, there was now no way he'd ever pass GSP.

I became a fan of St-Pierre because back then, the BJ Penn fanboys were the p4p most annoying fanbase in MMA, and watching him go 0-2 against our favorite French-Canadian was glorious.
Especially since the first fight was only close because Penn eyepoked George like 10 seconds into round one, and he had to fight with an eye closed for 3 rounds and still won

Then made Penn tap to strikes in his corner in the rematch

He took on everyone, and his only 2 losses (to top 3 WW GOAT Matt Hughes when St-Pierre was green, and got clipped behind the ear by Matt Serra who basically fought to draws with BJ & Hughes, 2 fights that one needs to watch and not just look at the result, to understand how good Serra was) were brutally avenged,
- KO'd & submitted prime Matt Hughes

- TKO'd Matt Serra with ease

And just, he had a couple boring fights here and there, but Jake Shields kept poking him in the eyes and raking his eyeballs
The Dan Hardy fight wasn't that bad, George easily handled the number one contender and was never in trouble.
He just had trouble submitting him because of his elastic limbs, and also because he wasn't brutal enough to just snap his opponents limbs

The way he went out after that Hendricks fight, picked an easy comeback fight with Bisping and then left once again will always leave a bad taste in my mouth. BJ and Anderson are the GOATs.

Let ask Dana who is the best WW in the story of UFC. It would kill him to have to admit that he was wrong and that none are close to GSP.

No fucking chance. At 42 years old, having fought just once in the last decade? By the way GSP has had double knee surgery.

Remember guys at 170lbs through 125lbs in UFC championship fights the record is 2 wins and 33 losses for fighters age 35 or older.
Yeah at the lighter weights, speed and endurance are enormous factors. Doesn't surprise me that age is a bigger factor for them.

Over a decade later, GSP was better pretty much everywhere than the entire WW division today.

Respect to the WW GOAT. He set a bar so high that people are struggling just to see it.

There was never any doubt, at any point. I couldn't help but laugh and facepalm every time Dana would try to convince us that "Usman is the greatest welterweight of all times."

There’s not another WW even close to surpassing GSP. GSP is unquestionably WW GOAT, and has a great argument for being MMA GOAT.

Oh! Oh! Another GSP thread, everyone line up...
(I'm gay for GSP too, just cant help it)

The way he went out after that Hendricks fight, picked an easy comeback fight with Bisping and then left once again will always leave a bad taste in my mouth. BJ and Anderson are the GOATs.
The same Bisping that has just beaten the brakes out of Anderson Silva with one eye even after getting sucker-knee'd by the Brazilian?
A washed up Wanderlei Silva did much better than Anderson...

Anderson Silva, a notorious steroids addict and habitual greaser who got destroyed by youtuber Jake Paul after going 1-7-1 in his last 9 UFC fights? (his only win being a robbery against Derek Brunson)

BJ Penn, 0-2 against GSP, tapped to strikes in his corner rather than face his fears and get in there for one last round with the French Canadian?
Penn, who got kicked out by USADA for abusing IVs and got kicked out of the UFC after going winless in 8 fights, and then got KTFO by some fat slob outside a bar?
Even in his prime BJ failed to capture the LW title twice, so the UFC had to create a belt just for him, and had him fight Daddy Joe Stevenson to win it {<jordan}

Anyway, it's easy, if you only count the natty GOATs then GSP & Fedor both have a shot a being number 1
If you don't care about steroid junkies, then Jon Jones is number one

The numbers don't lie, and our honorable sherdoggers have GSP as the top dog gold medalist, Fedor as the silver medalist, then Jon Jones only get the bronze medal because of his over-reliance on PEDs

GSP left as soon as USADA came in. Look at those gyno pictures people posted on here recently.

You’re conveniently only referring to old Anderson past his prime and ironically calling him a greaser, which is weird.

BJ arguably won the first fight. A bantamweight beat a middleweight’s ass…go watch it again.

You can’t deny his dominance but his reign was boring and far removed from his exciting karate style he used to win the title. He self-admittedly fought scared.

He set such an incredible example and high standard. And here we are today. UFC promoting finger painters when we used to have real artists.

this something khabib fans will never understand. someone will always be “best in the world,” but if you want to be “the greatest of all time,” you need be best in the world for a long fucking time.

gsp = natty goat

True.

However Shavkat is coming to take that all away.
