According to French-Canadian reporter Benoit Beaudoin the former UFC champ is working on a deal that would lead to his eventual return to combat, however, the UFC’s Reebok deal may be a sticking point.

I wonder how Reebok feels about this?
They have to know that this deal has only been viewed negatively in every way by MMA fans.
The same fanbase they were hoping to sell to.
 
Was going to post something funny about reebok. Instead this is about reebok anyway.
 
UFC should have gotten Under Armour as the sponsor. brand is hot as hell right now and achieving remarkable growth. that was the kind of sponsor the UFC needed.
 
I would have thought the big reebok money would have brought him back... reebok throw in a couple pairs of shoes to sweeten the deal

I for one am shocked that gsp doesn't want to "play ball".

likely they will work it out with he UFC
GSP will be given a special deal so as to not upset the applecart
 
If true this is great news ... Though I really really doubt that, other than money to counter the sponsors he is losing, the UFC will be able to do much for GSP. I think (but hope I'm wrong so GSP gets his) it'll be more about GSP conceding to the UFC than the other way around.

I can't recall who I listened to on an interview a few weeks ago - maybe Vitor when he said he lost millions, but he made a lot of sense in saying 'sure, i understand - lets have our apparel be sponsored by reebok, and not have any other clothing companies, sponsor us ... that's exclusive to reebok. no problem. but what about the rest of the sponsors? energy drinks? condoms to go? ANYTHING OTHER THAN CLOTHING?!?!?!" win win - reebok is exclusive, and fighters can earn what they're worth and what they're used to.. Makes too much sense for Dana though I'm afraid.
